Seven Bengals named as alternates to the Pro Bowl
We wrote on Thursday that Cedric Benson was an alternate at running back for this year's Pro Bowl, after the entire team had been shut out of the NFL All-Star game. However, he's not the only one. As of this weekend, seven Bengals players have been named as alternates. Joe Reedy provides the full list of Bengals that are Pro Bowl alternates.
Second Alternates
- Cedric Benson, RB
- Chad Ochocinco, WR
- Bobbie Williams, Guard
- Domata Peko, DT
- Johnathan Joseph
Third Alternate
- Carson Palmer, QB
Fourth Alternate

so the fans/coaches/players are saying that 6 AFC CBs played better than Leon Hall?

guys like Dhani Jones, Kyle Cook, Chinedum Ndukwe aren’t mentioned but Carson Palmer is… that further proves that the majority of the NFL fans & media don’t have a clue what’s going on with the Bengals. Palmer hasn’t been worthy of a single pro-bowl vote. I’m a big fan of the guy, but his play this year has been mediocre at best. One, maybe two drives per game he looks decent, otherwise he’s lobbing floaters around.
i’ll agree that carson shouldn’t necessarily be in the pro bowl, but i don’t know how you put ndukwe in that list, especially ahead of carson. carson’s not putting up world-beating numbers (by design), but he’s winning games and putting the team on his shoulders while not making mistakes (his completion percentage would be a lot better if receivers didn’t drop so many damn balls this year, which would also increase his yardage, yards-per-attempt, and possibly touchdowns, and if you take away two hail mary toss-ups, he’s thrown only ten interceptions all year). don’t discount the impact he’s made in at least four of the bengals’ wins this season, and he kept us in the san diego game while the defense collapsed.
i'm going to go america all over your ass!
people look at stats that don't watch and know a lot about the team
So with the stats that Carson has, it’s not that good, not enough to be mentioned for the Pro Bowl. I too, like Carson but he has not impressed me except for a few drives this year, (which he was outstanding).
I know about the hail mary int’s and all of the drop balls, but them passes do count into the stats (against him). Fans, coaches and some media only look at the name.
Leon Hall got screwed b/c Carson before Hall? Yeah, right! One bad game?!
All Star Game
I could care lessabout the All star game. Winning their division is more importent. Everyone knows teams like the Cowboys, Giants, Patriots, etc, get all the ESPN coverage. So naturally these teams get the All Star slots. Winning during the regular season is what matters. Go Bengals, heck on ESPN.
it wasn’t even leon that had the bad game. tom nelson blew all those coverages on vincent jackson. leon made amazing efforts each time to almost cover the mistakes.

the very end of the SD game
Leon blew that coverage BIG TIME. That was his man to the side line. That was the most important one of the game. You can’t say any different. He was wide open and was playing deep coverage when he had help in deep coverage. Looks like he was worried about Nelson not doing his job, rather than doing his own job.(on that play)
agreed that last play was all on Hall
every bit of the blame

right. but i’m not going to blame the guy for making one bad play this season, when he’s been the best in the league for all but that play.
i'm going to go america all over your ass!
pro bowl qb
carson palmer runs across the field and dives on caldwell’s fumble. beats three charger defenders to ball. then he recovers most of lost yardage on third down and forever. bengals tie game on field goal. this is what a pro bowl qb is.

comments like this really aggravate me. how many games do the bengals win this year without carson palmer? he is the team mvp. the most important and essential player on the team. the guy is a leader. he is focused on winning. he has driven the team down the field for clutch scores all year. most of them game winning. against san diego, the defense blew it. against denver, the gods blew it. his stats are solid. his mistakes few. his terrible games…zero. he is a team player who recognizes that the coach is the boss. he does not publicly challenge the coach. this guy is the real deal and has been worth every penny of his huge salary.

more carson palmer rant
the real question that has us all bloviating for a solid week is …will carson palmer play this sunday night? he is the starter who everybody is wondering about. that is because he is a great quarter back. and the most important player on a ten win team.

I'm glad no one made it
It promotes unselflishness (if that’s a word) and gives the guys even more motivation to prove experts wrong! That’s why we were succesful this year go begin with.
Pro Bowl? Child please.
It’s all about the Super Bowl

I think the whole Ofeense needs to play the whole game Sunday
maybe give Cedric 4 carries max though. Let Lj and B Scoot play more. the offense has to get its shit together. 17-13 points a game wont do in the playoffs
