Out for the Season: Pat Sims breaks forearm

The Cincinnati Bengals have had their issues with defensive tackles this year. Tank Johnson and Domata Peko have missed time. They've brought in guys like Shaun Smith and Orien Harris to fill in a role -- meaning they're bodies so key players can rest.

While I believe Tank is performing at his peak while with Cincinnati, the loss of Peko has hurt. In three of the past four games, the Bengals rush defense has allowed 100 yards or more, including 257 yards rushing to the New York Jets in the season finale.

And in that season finale game, Bengals defensive tackle Pat Sims broke his forearm, knocking him out of the game and the remainder of the season.

Thankfully, Peko is expected to return to the starting lineup in time for the playoffs.

Yea

Not just a meaningless game. But a game where we gave no effort and embarrassed ourselves too. I mean, where was the pride? Anyway, we’ve lost a couple of guys to minor injury and it looks like Sims is the biggest injury, provided that Chad’s knee is alright.

I hope we represent the AFC North well.

Who replaces Sims on the 53 man roster?

My three favorite things in the world in no particular order: My wife, sex with my wife, and The Cincinnati Bengals

I expected Purify to replace Rey

So I think he will replace Sims, unless they bring up McDonald for the Jets Game, Then Purify for the Next, D-line will be at a premium Saturday.

Jason Shirley?

Is he still on the practice squad?

Yes but as a Guard

Shouldn’t be back until OTAs to continue progress as a guard. Potentially Bobbie Williams eventual replacement.

shirley has amazing potential at guard, based on the way he pancaked guys last preseason.
