Collie and Bob Sanders have already been ruled out.

Their injury list is longer then ours!

I would really love to end this losing streak… and play spoiler for the rest of the season.

its the role we've cast for ourselves

and we’re ok at spoiling, even though the steelers won got a win in cincy. they will have a harder time doing the same this week, why? cincy gave the burgh, a starting safety with a concussion, their starting rb a concussion, their 2nd string rb a concussion, a left guard with a sprained knee, a tackle with a pinched neck, and a starting center with a bruised thigh. there is a good chance stark is done for the season.

we made it a costly win on a short week for them. wish the colts luck, even as we lose during this season we are making it hurt.

Is Andre Smith's "foot injury" the same injury he's had?

this makes me worry….

Probably. And probably always will as well.

Mikey the Moron is the worst GM of all time. Well, maybe that’s not entirely fair. There have probably been worse ones out there. The problem is the others sucked hard and got fired, and we can’t do that to him.

Unless, that is, we can get a citizens initiative on the ballot to demand a eminent domain closure on the team if he continues to refuse to hire competent management (GM/scouts/coaches) for his team. Not bloody likely to happen or work, but I’m pissed off enough to suggest we try it anyway.

what does that mean?

Would we lose the Bengals if we were successful? As much as I hate Mike Brown and dealing with losing seasons, I’m not sure I could ever root for anyone else. I’ve tried… it just doesn’t work… I believe after the age of 10, you can’t switch teams and still be a true fan.

With eminent domain the city would then own the Bengals. They might choose to make it publicly owned like the Packers or maybe they’d keep it outright and just hire proper management. No idea. And if we’re completely honest, probably nobody in the local government has the stones to try it. Especially not for merely losing seasons. It might happen 10 years from now when the county is in danger of going bankrupt from Mikey Boy’s greediness in his stadium lease. But until then it almost certainly won’t happen.

But let’s pretend it did. In that case, considering the city owned it and that they seized it with eminent domain, they couldn’t turn around and sell it. That simply wouldn’t hold water, Mike Brown could then sue and almost certainly win the team back in court. So the city or Hamilton County or some other local government agency would be stuck with the team forever. The team would have to stay here in Cinti, and you wouldn’t have to try to find another team to root for.

The best case scenario I can see would be that Hamilton County or Cincinnati (or even the state of Ohio) threatened to seize it, passed it, drew up the paperwork, and gave Mike five days to comply with a list of demands or they’d execute it, and then at the last second Mike Brown relented and did what he should have done 20 years ago (hire proper management for his team and become basically an absentee owner). This would avoid messy court challenges and also figuring out what to do with the team once the government owned it, but if he ever tried to revert to his old ways the precedent would have been set.

Second best scenario was they went through with the paperwork and then made it a government-owned corporation — somewhat like the Packers — and sold off about 40% of the team in non-voting stock (to make sure Mikey couldn’t try to buy the team back) to raise the money they need to fix the stadium up and turn the company into a genuinely profitable industry without needing to dip into Jerral Jones’ pocketbook for handouts.

Third best scenario is that Mike Brown sold the team to somebody else. The team might move then, but at least we be rid of the moron. But realistically if the new owner tried to move the team the fact that the thread of ED forced out one owner would make it very difficult for him to try to move. Not impossible, but it would make it difficult and also make him hesitant and likely to at least TRY to find a compromise first. So even then the odds would be in our favor to avoid losing the team.

I'd really hate to see any form of "government" own the team

or anything for that matter. I guess I’d rather see someone else buy the team and take the risk they don’t move them.

I’m not a fan of it either. I said earlier that I hate the way ED has been abused over the last decade or so. But Mike Brown has pissed me off enough I’m willing to make an exception.

I don't mean to be political, but my dream owner

would be Rush Limbaugh. Put politics aside, he desparately wanted the Rams which he wasn’t able to get. He is a Pittsburgh fan. We’re about halfway in between. He loves football. He’s knowledgeable on football, but smart enough to realize he shouldn’t be running the team as a GM – nor would he have time to. He’s already made (and will continue to) a shit-load of money, so earning profit wouldn’t be a concern. I imagine he would probably be one of the most passionate owners and being a Steelers fanatic, he would probably mold our team based on their standard.

Ari Gold?

How will Chris Carpenter explain this to his children?

I would laugh my butt off at that. Oh sure, he’ll never get in, he’s too politically volatile. Love him or hate him, he says some of the most buzz-worthy things — whether you agree with them or not.

But I would still take him in a second. Hell I’d take back what’s his face, the original owner of the Saints, John Mecom. He couldn’t be worse than Brown. At least this time around he’d know to hire a GM.

Fanene

Jesus, just IR him already and go after another DE FA or something. His injury is a big reason that the pass rush has suffered this year.
