Donovan McNabb Fires Back at Terrell Owens
Terrell Owens hasn't been on the same field and on the same team with Donovan McNabb since 2005. It's been five years since we watched Owens berate McNabb on the sidelines between plays and five years since their unhealthy relationship was a constant headline on SportsCenter. Five years is a long time and it is an especially long time to hold a grudge.
Obviously, for TO and McNabb, five years isn't long enough.
Michael Vick may have stolen the show on Monday night when he threw for four touchdowns and ran two more in but possibly the biggest news was of McNabbs future with the Washington Red Skins. McNabb's performance was less than stellar in the Monday night game in which he hosted his former team, throwing for 295 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. TO was watching and of course, being TO, he couldn't let bygones be bygones. He tweeted:
How do u justify a 78 million dollar contract w/this type of performance?
McNabb, who for the most part has seemed to be above responding to TO's insults, decided to respond Tuesday while on ESPN radio.
"It's unbelievable how they can comment on what I'm doing over here," McNabb said, while bringing up the 2-7 Bengals' lowly record.
Sigh....... This is what I write about now.
The NFL should buy some airtime on daytime TV and have a TO VS McNabb soap opera between The Young and the Restless and General Hospital. I may actually tune in to that show every once in a while.

Hell
I honestly believe TO said what 99% of what NFL Nation (fans, media, players, coaches) all were thinking.

99%? Are the other 1% brain dead?
Of course, now that we found out today only like 3.25 is guaranteed unless if he gets injured and never plays again, or if they pay his 10 million dollar bonus this summer and keep him, it makes a lot more sense.
The offer was on the table. Donovan figured jump out on it while it’s still there. It was probably more guaranteed money than he was getting the rest of this year, and he probably figures he’s getting released this offseason anyway, so might as well make some extra money in the process.
How will Chris Carpenter explain this to his children?
RE:
I don’t blame Donovan. If someone is going to offer you a boatload of money, are you going to refuse it? Of course not.
And I don’t think Owens’ comment was even directed at Donovan as much as it was the Redskins, who watched their 100-million dollar defensive tackle lay on the ground during a play.

Haha that's awesome.
I don’t blame Donovan either. Heck, if he was smart enough to recognize that the offer was still on the table, that it could be a possible PR disaster for the Redskins if they pulled it back once he tried to accept, if he knew that he is in all likelihood not going to be brought back, and he knew that it would guarantee him more money than otherwise for the rest of the year, then I think Shanahan was wrong about one thing: Donovan is clearly intelligent enough to run the 2 minute offense.
How will Chris Carpenter explain this to his children?
I'm pretty sure T.O.'s in the top five at his position at the moment, McNabb.
Can you claim the same?
Also, believe me, let’s see you beat the Falcons, Steelers, and Colts.
No, wait, you lost to one of those teams too.

really?
lets look at a couple of things then:
1) mcnabb said, ""It’s unbelievable how they can comment on what I’m doing over here." There was no they. The bengals didn’t hold a press conference. There was no official team press release. It was TO. So McNabb was wrong there. he should have said, “It’s unbelievable how he can comment on what I’m doing over here.”
2) the redskins are a sub .500 team as well. when you are bucking for a top 10 draft pick, is the team really doing anything right?
3) the bengals have yet to blown out this year. the redskins lost their last game by 31 points. which team played worst this past week?
