Pre-Game Open Therad: Buffalo Bills (1-8) at Cincinnati Bengals (2-7)
We'll be doing things a bit differently here on out. At 9am, we'll be doing a pregame open thread until kickoff, where the game's open thread will fire up at 1pm. We'll do another post in between that will talk about the inactive list and changes in the starting line up. Obviously the schedule will be different on games with a different start time.
For now, let's get ready for some football.

Doubt it
there are currently 32 teams in eight divisions; it wouldn’t make sense to disrupt that kind of harmony.

well they could
add 4 teams and then have 6 divisions of 6 teams. I think that would be better than what they have now. And they would be expanding too. Isn’t that what a corporation wants to do.? Expand and grow = more profit? They are considering 18 games. That’s expanding too, right?
Yes, but....
…more teams means more players which means watering down the league with less-talented players. I wouldn’t want that. In fact, I’m against more games because right now I think the NFL has the perfect balance of teams and games. Plus, with a six-team division, do you play all five other teams twice and have 10 divisional games or do you play some teams once and some twice and have only 8 divisional games? Four-team divisions allow for better rivalries and tighter geographical groupings, which I personally enjoy.

I was just trying to figure out other solutions or scenarios.
I personally don’t like the 18 games either. And making the NFL expand with more teams does sound like watering down. They did have 6 divisions at one time and it seemed to work then. They wanted to expand for more, back then. Just saying.
Oh, and it could possibly hurt college football too. Expanding that is…
>tighter geographical groupings
because Indianapolis is very much in the south and dallas is very easterly.
I wouldn’t mind for a redrawing of the divisions so they make more sense geography wise and not “market” wise.

Is it wrong that I hope we lose the rest of our games?
I feel like a 2-14 or 3-13 would motivate the team to reevaluate everything top to bottom and force it to change some of those things that we as fans so often (justifiably) complain about.
With a 6-10 or 7-9 (if Cincy could pull that off), the team would feel like they just have to make some minor tweaks.
I’d also love to see Marvin Lewis kick ass with some other team, if for no other reason than to prompt Mike Brown to ask himself, “Why didn’t he do that well here?”
See Dick LeBeau
We got rid of him and he went to Pittsburgh and helped win Super Bowls. You’d think that he would have Mike Browns head scratching right now.
yawn yawn..
What good games are on today? ho hum I will watch this wretched one. I want to watch Vick..

Fantasy football advice....
I have Benson against the Bills starting right now but he’s been limited in practice all week. I picked up Scott as an insurance policy earlier in the week just in case Benson was going to sit this one out… he’s still questionable. I almost hope (for my fantasy team) that Benson does sit out because Scott will get all of the carries. I’m fairly certain that if Benson does play, he’ll split carries and kind of screw my team over. So, the question is, should I start Benson anyway?… or should I start somebody else all together. My only other real option right now is Santana Moss or Pierre Garcon….. Thoughts?

That's what I'm probably going to have to do but the "I guess" in your reply doesn't instill a lot of confidence....

No it's just
This might be one of those games Brat pulls his head out of his ass for some fresh air.
I am just not sure if I care today
I shouldnt feel that way but i do. This team is a FAIL thus far and the season is over as far as competing for anything tangible. Not even sure I will get it on TV so it seems lots of other fans don’t care as well. I do hope they win but if they lose I will will not lose any sleep.

Won't happen anyway, Mikey'd have to give up on Carson to do that.
And given his contract, that won’t happen.
