Around SBN: Indy 500: 'Greatest Spectacle In Racing' Set For Sunday

"Just an average corner to me. Everybody has assessed his abilities as far as what he did last year, shutdown corner, this and that. He did very well last year. But I think I’m looking forward to the challenge just like he’s looking forward to the challenge. I am not going to back down from anyone. I know my skill set. Last year we played I know why I didn’t perform to the best of my abilities. It’s going to be a great game on Thursday."

T.O. is brilliant

He just generated some interest in a game for which there was no interest before. More screen time for him. Brilliant. Say what you want, but he knows how to promote himself.

Is Revis even going to be covering TO?

I would think he’s on Chad this week, just by default.

Revis will be on TO. Cromartie will be on Johnson.

So!

It don’t matter, we’re 2-8..

by WHYUS!! on Nov 24, 2010 1:18 PM EST up reply actions

I'm not trying to start anything

He asked who would be on TO, so I replied.

by JetGreen on Nov 24, 2010 1:20 PM EST up reply actions

Me neither,

we’re still 2-8 and nothing matters right now.
I’m heartbroken.. lol

Revis hasn't been covering anyone this year

he let last year get in his head, now Cro-Daddy covers all the #1’s….guess you should have played out your contract instead of sitting out like a whiney bitch Revis….Give me J-Jo and Leon anyday over those two chumps…

by TruWhoDey on Nov 23, 2010 6:23 PM EST reply actions

J-JO but not Leon

Leon was burned for 3 tds by Steve Johnson. Leon has let up some really big plays this year.

by sgiridharan1982 on Nov 23, 2010 6:48 PM EST up reply actions

he also had 3rd and 4th stringers

providing his help over the top……any corner will get burned, but the best also have great safeties to make up for those mistakes….Leon did not have that.

Furthermore, look up the old post from the offseason ranking the top 10 corners, take a good look at Leon and J-Jo and how they stack up against the other CB’s (including the two that made the pro bowl over them) and btw Stevie Johnson is legit.

Not at all true

Try Calvin Johnson 1 catch for 13 yards & Andre Johnson 4 catches for 32, neither with TDs.

Cro matched up very well with Randy Moss after Revis’s hammy injury and then again vs. the Vikes.

Revis is back to being health and taking the #1.

And, from all indications he’ll be on TO Thursday. “Slouch” v. “Average Corner”

by GangGreenGol4 on Nov 24, 2010 11:43 AM EST up reply actions

Revis

Also shut down Andre Johnson this past week. 4 catches for 32 yards I think.

by JetGreen on Nov 24, 2010 1:12 PM EST up reply actions

bah, sorry ganggreen, I skimmed over your Andre Johnson stat line.

As much as I like TO

I don’t think anybody on this team should be talking smack with the year we’re having.

I wonder what Chad was thinking after TO said this...

“yea, yea. Get him boss!!! It was a fluke I only had three catches against this guy in two games.”

In Chad's defense

The pick Revis had that was meant for Chad was a really poor throw from Palmer. It was extremely short and Chad had Revis beat by a good 5 feet.

He does have a valid point

Revis did it for 1 year….no mas, no less

by TruWhoDey on Nov 23, 2010 7:28 PM EST reply actions

He's also done it this year

To Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson, who, as much as I like TO, are infinitely better than #81.

Megatron was, I believe, held to 1 catch for 12 yards.

It’s a hell of a lot easier to cover one great receiver than three or four decent ones.

TO and Chad aren’t elite anymore. But Revis, even if he has a flat out awesome game, can’t cover both at once. Add in Shipley and Gresham and somebody is going to get open… as long as Carson isn’t on his back in 3 seconds or less.

Which, unfortunately, is probably a bit of a big if.

by FriarBob on Nov 24, 2010 12:23 AM EST up reply actions

I bet Shipley and Gresham have career days on Thursday. Revis and Cromartie have been shutting down the top 2 receivers from opponents, but the Jets coverage on receivers down the depth chart in the middle of the field has been suspect at best. Coleman and Wilson have been spotty all year and our safeties suck in coverage.

Carson will be forced to throw elsewhere and that’s where he will find success. So I would say keep your eyes on your slot receiver and TE tomorrow.

by JetGreen on Nov 24, 2010 1:18 PM EST up reply actions

One doesn't need to be great

when covering one so uninspired. Talent does not matter in contested throws, that is who wants it more. And as we all know, T.O. doesn’t seem to want to put forth an extra effort for a ball. he just coasts on his (admittedly) monster talent. And with Revis (and Palmer) I see a lot of contested throws out tomorrow

Heeeeey, Ochocinco, he's a good guy, no?
