Pre-Game Open Thread: Cincinnati Bengals (2-8) at New York Jets (8-2)
First and foremost, here's hoping that everyone is having a wonderful thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. By now, you're stuffed with turkey and accessories and enjoying the company some of you haven't had for some time. Enjoy it. These are the important things that makes life worth it. And while football should never be important in the grande scheme of things, it's still important to the fanatics that cheer for the teams.
And tonight, our fandom surfaces as the Bengals take on the New York Jets. We'll have the game's open thread up later tonight. So for now, talk about your expectations, your thanksgiving dinner with family, a television show that's really getting awesome (I'm looking at you Fringe, The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy and Terriers).

The one year in my life when we get a Thanksgiving game, it's the year we're most likely to get humiliated.
sigh
Win a ring without the king! Cavs=2011 champs?
RUN RUN RUN
I want to see benson run 25 times, scott run at least another ten and palmer throw no more then 20 passes. We should play like Pitt, Ben is at his best when he throws 20 times a game. Get the run game going and if your down in the fourth you can do play action.
Good luck tonight guys. Definitely pulling for you all to shut Rex Ryan up and help out the Ravens a bit. Lets see Hall and JJ rip up Sanchez.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I wouldn't be worried about the Jets yet if I were you.
You have to win the division before you worry about seeding, bro.

Very true. But at this point in the season, when you are in contention, you start rooting for teams you need to lose.
Hm.
There’s a new NFL Play 60 commercial out and they surprisingly put the Bengals on it. The odd thing was, Mikey Boy wasn’t in it, Katie was. I wonder if this means he’s finally retiring…nah probably not.
We've all seen Katie "negotiating."
She’d be no better.

I predict the Bengals stomping on the J-E-T-S 45 to 14 with little Palmer at the helm
What do you do when there's no way out? Find a way to get deeper in it.
Gonna need all of it just to be excited for this.
All the glory of a Thanksgiving game means nothing if you’re as bad as the Bengals.
If it is that bad
look on the brighter side.. At least it won’t be nationally televised, unlike the beat down Detroit is starting to take right now. Detroit is starting to look a lot like the Bengals.
WHO DEYYYY
Yeahh my subject line pretty much sums up what I want to say. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Go Bengals!

Lions amass enough penalty yards to put the Patriots' kickoff on the Lions' 40.
Shank Graham feels it necessary to drill it through the uprights.
It would have been extremely douchey to do an onside, though.
I think putting it through the uprights was the only classy move to make.

GOD PLEASE NO
Go for Luck so that you can give him a year or two to learn under Palmer before taking over as the starter. If not, get Quinn or Bowers.

You can't deny that we would need WR help if T.O. leaves.
And especially if Chad goes too.
Besides, they had Luck going to Carolina first overall, so yeh. As bad as we are, we did beat them. Unless Carolina wins two and we win none, we have second pick regardless.
Okay, so go with Quinn.
Receiver is NOT our top need.

I'm actually going to wait on this subject before I guve my opinion.
Too early right now. I want to see who’s coming back first.
I'd rather Mikey try to replace T.O.'s hole through the draft than through FA.
If it’s not A.J. Green, who’s drawing comparisons to Calvin Johnson (http://www.cincyjungle.com/2010/11/25/1834353/pre-game-open-thread-cincinnati-bengals-2-8-at-new-york-jets-8-2#52826185), then who will it be? Pick a top receiver in the game thus far and tell me who will last until the second for us to pick?
I mean, I’d like Quinn as well, but do you actually expect Mikey to be smart and pick a trenches player over a flashy guy?
I wasn't really being serious about Calvin Johnson actually playing for the Bengals.
I was just saying that because he’s a beast and I like him. CByers had a projection of our picks on Mocking the Draft and has us taking Jon Baldwin in the second (he has Luck in the first, but that won’t likely happen for the reasons you said.) I wouldn’t mind him in the second if we upgraded the line in the first.
If we’re able to keep Joseph (not sure how likely it is but I’m holding out hope) this defense would be straight nasty with a couple upgrades on the defensive line. Also, if there’s any way to get Marvin Austin in the third I’d be all over it.
Could you imagine a defensive line in a few years of Quinn, Marvin Austin, Peko and Dunlap? That would be insane.
Win a ring without the king! Cavs=2011 champs?
Yeah, I was probably daydreaming.
But that would be a good defense. Who would even care about the offense if all that could happen?
Win a ring without the king! Cavs=2011 champs?
2000 ravens more like 2011 bengals defense
That’d actually allow us to get back to the run offense, but we’d still have no pass if we actually needed to use it.
There is a report that Carson is a game time decision.
They said there is a real possibility that JP5 is starting tonight. If this happens, what if he actually does better than big bro? Talking about controversy..
If we somehow win, I will piss myself with laughter, buy a Jordan Palmer jersey, make it into a flag, and plant that sucker right outside New Meadowlands.
Scratch that, Marvin's saying Carson will start.
Speaking of the game, what channel will it be on? It’s on NFL Network, but I have to imagine they’ll show it on a regular channel in Florence KY. CBS or Fox?

>Mike Brown
You could’ve given me a Bengals-related image, but I am not grateful for Mike Brown and he certainly does not make me happy!
Happy Thanksgiving from Scotland..Cant believe im staying up to watch this....
Like a moth drawn to the flame…it cant be helped!
think of it as a battle of 2 teams with a combined record of 10-10
makes it seem like more of an even contest..

I just heard the Black-Eyed Peas are performing at Halftime during the Super Bowl.
If that’s the case, I’d rather have them air commercials straight through the concert. It’d be more entertaining.
Nah, I'll probably find something else to do on that day.
I dunno if I’ll even be watching it unless the college hosts a Super Bowl party.
