Bengals Sign DT Clinton McDonald Off The Practice Squad; Waive S Rico Murray

If the Bengals were to make a move today, you can pretty much tell how that would pan out just by looking at the injury reports. In late October when Adam Jones went on Injured Reserve with Johnathan Joseph, Roy Williams, Leon Hall, Chinedum Ndukwe and Morgan Trent injured, missing games and practices, the Bengals signed Rico Murray off the practice squad. I know what you're thinking. How is it fair to the rest of the world when Murray's awesomeness is what helps the team's injured secondary get by?

Now that the secondary is getting healthy, the team's defensive line is taking a nose dive for the worse.

So how does Rico Murray help the Bengals now?

i was really hoping Uncle Rico would stick….he played well from the limited action he saw (and he’s a local Cincy guy)…..F YOU Mike Brown…..you better step up McClinton

So...

Does this mean they can resign Murray to the practice squad? If so this is what I’d expect to have happen. Hopefully Mcdonald can do something for us. Doubt it though…our defensive linemen are like ghosts.

"Does this mean they can resign Murray to the practice squad?"

Yep. Absolutely. He just has to clear waivers first and then he can be re-signed.

Screw it, I think we should shake up the starting line.

I say give this starting D-Line a shot; Dunlap, Atkins, Peko, MJ. Those 3 aren’t very experienced but how much worse can it get?

That way you can put Geathers, Frostee and Tank out there on certain downs and tell them to conserve absolutely no energy and to just go crazy on them.

Agreed. The season is lost, give the young guy snaps. Dunlap hasn’t been impressive getting off the ball, but he’s a monster in pursuit. Give him more chances. I also want to see Sims out there more.

It's not even that the season is lost, it's just that this line can't get any worse.

They need to try subbing more so the guys can go all-out every down.

agreed

its time for a heavy rotation. guys need to be resting often. someone gets hot they earn playing time. someone stays cold, they stay in rotation.

Honestly, the Vikings sat Jared Allen and Ray Edwards last night before the last few minutes in the fourth quarter.

When they went back out, they played like monsters. I wonder if it’d work for us. Send a message, Zimmer.

rico played with some heart last game and got released for it?
