What really made that play work was Andre Smith
shoving his DE back. What almost made it not work was the weakass block Grisham “attempted” on the LB.

I know he made an awful holding call in the game
but he has looked surprisingly decent since he started getting the playing time.

yea, but the future is starting to look bright for him
You can’t teach what he did on that play where he manhandled a 3-4 DE.

i love how A.Smith got yanked (sarcasm)
and then Shrek came in (Roland) and got beat in 2 straight plays (almost ended the game single handedly). Absolutely horrible benching him on that drive
I noticed that too. And it seemed liek Andre knew it was coming
because he immidiately started walking towards the sidelines. There must have been a pregame decision to bench him if he made a penalty. But they brought him back though.
On the Lurch play though, I thought that was Brian Leanoard’s (or whoever was in teh backfield) fault. Roland called out before the play started that he had two guys. If he took the guy on the outside, the inside guy would have had the sack instead because Leanard went the opposite direction instead of picking him up.

It's really not that uncommon...
Players get benched temporarily fallowing penalties all the time, especially linemen, because a holding call is a great indicator that they’re tired and need a breather.

But yes, it was painful to watch Roland get absolutely smoked in his stead.

RE: i know
the timing of the benching is what pisses me off. Did you notice the steelers loaded Rolands side of the line immediately when he came in the game….then promptly beat him like a rented mule on back to back plays….
This was my favorite part of the night
My girlfriend is a huge Polamalu fan (she named her dog Troy) and I couldn’t help but laugh after he got laid out like that. It also helps that he probably has a good 150+ on Polamalu too.
Word is...
…you still lost the game, but enjoy your moral victory…
