Pre-Game Open Thread: Cincinnati Bengals (2-10) at Pittsburgh Steelers (9-3)

PrintThe Bengals head to Pittsburgh's in the hopes of breaking their nine-game losing streak Sunday afternoon. One more loss, and the Bengals tie a franchise record 10-straight losses. Saying Cincinnati has nothing to play for this year would be an understatement. Yet, they'll play for pride and the ambition of beating a division rival. But there is plenty of Wreck Your Team element.
Beating the Steelers will bring Pittsburgh back into a tie with the Baltimore Ravens, if they beat the Texans Monday Night, which they should. And losing to the Bengals will be a traumatic experience for the players and their fans. And that alone will bring a smile to all of our faces.
The game is expected to kickoff at 1pm today and the field could be messy, with 2-3 inches of snow expected to hit the ground. Until then, talk about the team, talk about your favorite televisions shows or whatever comes to your mind.

Does anyone remember an old adage: “Kick the most docile dog too many times, and eventually it will attack.”? Last year, we were that dog you kicked, while being far from docile, we had our fangs filed down. Well, they have grown back.
At the same time, it seems as though somebody came along and declawed the kitties. Even that mutant extra TOe you grew during the off season. After all the shit you guys talked last season, isn’t there even the tiniest voice in the backs of your heads saying “We deserve this.”?
Do any of you have any idea who will be the new Bengals head coach next year?

Not looking forward to this game, which means we'll probably find a way to win.
Thanks to our circle of incompetence in Cincinnati, most of my attention will be spent on the Cardinals-Broncos game and watching Fordham alum John Skelton start at QB for the Cards.
1) Game's not on for me and I won't be home during at least the first half. So boo/yay? lol
2) I went to Target’s mobile phone kiosk yesterday which is operated by RadioShack. Traded in my 15-month old iPhone 3GS and promptly paid $25 for an iPhone 4.

my point was your Steelers will lose to a much better team in NE. The fact the Bengals lost to the Jets last year has nothing to do with my assertion. The Steelers only chance is if the game comes down to Shayne Graham kicking FGs.

Kimo’s dive into Palmer’s knee was more a function of a defensive strategy to hit Palmer to try and rattle him in his first playoff game. Unfortunately, Kimo did not take into account the dangerous nature of his completely unnecessary hit on a fellow player. Much like Harrison.
The ironic thing about Harrison is that when he is having serious neurological problems in about 15 years, he won’t even be able to remember how he protested for the right to execute over-the-top hits.
