Chinedum Ndukwe's Knee Injury "Doesn't Look Good"
With 9:45 left in the second quarter, the Bengals holding onto a seven point lead when the Steelers began a possession at their own eight-yard line. Ben Roethlisberger hands off the football to Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall behind the right side of the line.
After a 5-6 yard gain on the ground, a pile formed up and a Steelers crashed to the left side of Chinedum Ndukwe's knee, forcing it to bend sideways. Ndukwe thrived on the ground before being helped off the field by two medical staff directly into the lockerroom. Ndukwe put no weight on his leg as he was helped off the field.
The injury has all the makings of serious ligament damage, as Ndukwe's knee was bent inward. Marvin Lewis said that Ndukwe's injury "doesn't look good." According to Geoff Hobson, Ndukwe was "seen on crutches in the lockerroom after the game."
If Ndukwe heads onto the team's IR, which we suspect he will, that will leave four safeties on the team's 53-man roster: Roy Williams, Reggie Nelson, Tom Nelson and Jeromy Miles.

Who the F is Jeromy Miles?
If we don’t see a wide receiver playing in the secondary at some point this season I will eat my shoe.
Simpson anyone?
He is tall, fast and can jump! That would at least get him dressed for games. Hell he can’t be worse then the safeties we have now that can’t tackle or let WR catch balls infront of them.
glad I am not the only one thinkning that

A lot of people were pretty high on him on the Bengals website forums.
Undrafted FA but had some really good credentials.

Tom Nelson Increased playing time. Awesome.
I have noticed a trend with him. And its that he is normally running behind recievers watching them catch footballs.
Here's to brilliant Marvin Lewis not drafting a safety last draft!
F*ck you!

We haven't drafted many safeties high
Madieu Williams in the second, Marvin White in the fourth. I can’t figure out if Marvin doesn’t value this position, or if MB doesn’t.

Hope chinny bounces back.
He can be a liability at times but has big plays for us as well. Hope the injury aint to bad,but it looked horrible
Hey, guys, I know we're mad about not drafting a safety,
but which of our first three picks should we have dumped for a safety? Gresham, Dunlap and Shipley look great right now, and after that we would’ve ended up with a low-impact player.
It's time to sink or Zim.

Amen.
All three are going to be Pro Bowlers. This might have turned out to be our best draft in a long time, ironically. I was on the fence about Dunlap with everyone else until the last few games, and today sealed it up for me. He had at least 3 blocked passes that I saw on top of his pass rushing. I thought Michael Johnson was a physical freak until I saw Dunlap.
I would've taken one in the second
Hindsight is 20/20 so yeah, all first three draft choices look promising now, but in my book safety was one of the biggest needs. With that said, I am very pleased as to how our 1st three draft choices have turned out.

What safteys have done good from this class?
The only ones I can think of the off the top of my head are Berry and TJ Ward.
Nate Allen
For Philly has been playing well.

I think Earl Thomas is doing well.
65 Tackles, 5 interceptions
But we had no shot at him or Berry so uh

yea
I forgot about thomas and allen thanks. And I know a lot of people here don’t like ward cuz the shipley hit, but I live in cleveland and see a lot of browns games and I would love for him to be in cincy.

Question
With the unreplayed eye I originally saw the play with, why didn’t the PIT AT crew have the gator or golf cart ready for transport or has there been a change in NFL protocol for bringing out emergency equipment?
Must be another heinz Field turf issue in there somewhere.

Seems like...
Zimmer values safeties that are good at run stuffing, and bringing them in as free agents. I think the team values corners that are good in coverage to compensate for safeties that aren’t so hot there.
Who was a free agent safety in the offseason? Why is the whole freaking defense injured?
Gibril Wilson.
And that’s a damn good question.

Safety.
Who are the top safeties in this years draft? I’m thinking 2nd round….
Secondly, who would be a free agent safety?
no standout safeties in this draft (IMO)
remember we have Gibril Wilson signed and on IR

please double check... I may be wrong
In one of Big Ben’s sacks (Ndukwe had 1 sack), a Cincy player intentionally kicked Ben in the facemask with his knee. Cincy player made it look like unintentional, but we all know how “unintentional” works to kick a player in the face who 6 days ago surgically repaired his nose.
So, I wonder, what goes around will come around? If that player was Ndukwe who "un"intentionally kneed Ben in the face got the injury himself.
Just double check please and watch the video.
not true
Nedu was getting up after the sack and bumped Worthlessburger in the head. In the process, two Stoolers pushed him back and Ben got hit again. There was nothing dirty about the play despite what Dierdorf was blabbering on about…
