In Regards To JungleJohns suggestion:
We all are mad as hell, right?
Well, we are looking for supporters. Any one who feels a need to do something about the losing that we have endured for so long, here's your chance. JungleJohn started a fanpost as most of you know already, on the idea to do something about it. If you have read the fanpost then you know what we intend to do. We need some fans to participate. So what say you.
If you don't know what I'm talking about then read JungleJohns fanpost. Just how upset are we? Really. We need a lot of support to start this movement, but we can do this.
Here are the addresses that we can use to personally start writing Mike Brown and Roger Goodell.
Mike Brown
One Paul Brown Stadium
Cincinnati, OH 45202
National Football League
Attn: Roger Goodell, Commissioner
280 Park Avenue
New York, NY 10017
Please let us know in this thread if you want to participate. The other post is getting a little long and I like to keep things in some what of an orderly fashion. I encourage all of you to participate, for the success of our beloved Bengals.
Note:
If you are thinking that it 's going to cost you money, don't. B/c it's not. Just a little time to write personal letters and organize some rallies or such. (Just your time and dedication to the cause, that's all) For those of you that want to donate, (like me) will do so in due time. It won't cost much if we all donate a little.
All Fans are welcome, just as though they stay civil with the letters and be respectful.
Here's a poll to see how many we have. Make what ever comments or questions below.
Thanks, from a concerned Bengals fan Why US!!
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors.

Postage will probably cost you something.
But a lot less than what the Bengals cost you.

I'd gladly pay postage if it means that the money spent for the Bengals would actually be worth it.
Just trying to decide what to write.

Please don´t "WRIGHT" letters to Mike Brown with these types of mispellings
hahahahahahahahah
What do you do when there's no way out? Find a way to get deeper in it.
Leave it to you to point out
the cons of everything. Your good at negativity….
You should change your user name to Mr. Negativity. But thanks!
If that's the only con he can point out, then we're pretty golden right now.

Mike Brown doesn't read his mail....
I’m pretty sure you would be wasting a stamp with him. I’m all for writing Roger Goodell. I feel we have a better chance for change if we flood Goodell with mail. At least Mike has to listen to him!!!! (not that anything Roger says will sink in, but it’s a start)
No, cut this kind of thought.
We can’t go in with any doubts and expect this to work. Don’t just assume it. If sending one letter a day doesn’t work, send two. If sending two letters a day doesn’t work, send three. Eventually he has to listen. Somebody will. If the results are “I’ll talk to Mike Brown,” keep sending them. We, the fans, know that will not change things. Don’t settle for a half-assed result from the Commish or Brown. The only thing that should and/or will quell us is the news that Mike Brown is stepping down/hired a GM. At that point, firing Bratkowski is optional.

It's like in Shawshank Redemption.
The main character, Andy, wanted to make improvements on the jail he was in but lacked any money to do it. So he wrote to the state every day asking for additional funds to be sent to the jail. When they didn’t budge on it, he kept sending them. They wrote him a check for $200. He started sending two a day. That’s just one man. Imagine us. Let’s say this small group reaches 50. That’s 50 letters a day Mike Brown is getting. If he doesn’t respond on it, then those letters get sent. If he sends an answer none of us approve of,he starts getting 100 a day.

Writing letters is a good thing - a positive thing but
they are easily dismissed and screened out. This needs to, IMHO, be an organized and solidified movement. Keep writing though, if everyone does it might get his attention, but what I would like to see is something so big it cannot be ignored. Big enough, thru our combined efforts, to grab national media attention and force MB to address it. His position is not defensable. I say make the national media force him to try publicly. As I said once the national media smells blood in the water they will feast on him. We just need to put the blood in the water – they will eat him. Will it force him to do something, possibly, but tens of thousands will get their money’s worth watching him squirm in public as someone like Mike Wilbon or the NFL Network staff makes him try.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
Exactly.
We’re the prep crew. Stuff like this gets local media attention, sending them to Gooddell should get national attention. Letters work, we’ve investigated billboard costs, and ads in the paper can’t possibly be that much. We have options, lets use them.

go to the e-mail doc
I am trying to direct the initial effort from there until we can get even a cursory site up where we can freely discuss it. Once it is up I will direct responder to the site. That way we can cut thru the chaff and have more directed discussion. I will answer any questions to each directly. I really do have a plan and I realize that it will be cumbersome at first. Right now I need to get those interested to e-mail me at the site. bengalsnextstep@yahoo.com

how about a black out?
The kind where nobody shows up to a home game. Put an add in the paper, get the local news involved. Just get the word out to.fans that nobody should attend ‘this’ game. The Browns threatened doing this and the orginization got spooked and called a meeting with fans to.discuss the future.

This would be great...
No one shows up to a game and/or they protest going into the game outside of Paul Brown Stadium. I think a protest in front of the stadium, while a game is going on, would surely get MB’s attention. The police would probably break it up though.
That's actually a good idea.
Everyone goes to the game but doesn’t enter and stands outside in protest. Stand there and protest throughout the 1st half.

I would like to make one thing very clear......
This is not my movement – it is your movement. I would also like to point out that in most situations where organizations are formed, this part right here is where they frequently set themselves up to fail. My purpose is, to use a metaphor, is to be like the grain of sand that caused an irritation in the oyster around which the pearl forms. In the end the pearl is the thing, the grain of sand becomes insignificant and unseen.
There is one thing all of you can depend on me to do. It is the only thing that I have 100% control over. I will be honest and open I promise you that once a functional group is in place, I will encourage anyone who is interested to put their name in the hat to be considered as the leader and he will be chosen by the members. But, to do that someone has to step up and organize that initial group.
We need, IMO, 50 members to sign up. You can do that in the e-mail account I have set up in yahoo. It is bengalsnextstep@yahoo. I will set up the responders in groups and we can log the membership there. If someone has a better idea give it to me.
The plan is to find or establish a forum where we can openly discuss the manner in which we will proceed.
I should state here that IMO, the goal is put together a movement that is big enough to make a print media splash in the spring followed up with a big rally at fountain square or someplace similar. To draw the attention of not only the local but national media.
The NFL hates bad publicity. Goodell will have to address it and Mike Brown will be pressured to respond publicly to defend a defenseless position. The national media once it smells blood in the water will not accept MB saying something like " you are stuck with me." They will bring pressure to bear and do the real work. We just need to supply the initial priming of the pump.
Now, if you have ever primed a pump you know that if you pour to little water in it will just be a waste of water. If the bump needs two cups of water to be primed and you pour in one cup it won’t work. Then later if you pour in another cup it still won’t work. You use two cups but don’t get the result you want. But, if you pour the same two cups in all at once the pump will then start producing. The initial output needs to come out of the blue and hit hard and unexpected. A fulll page ad in a major national newspaper the calls out MB and announces a big rally in Cincy the following weekend. If we can pull this off I promise you that every major print, radio and television media as well as the internet and cable news will cover it. MB will find pressure he has never felt before. Individual letters are great and are positive. If you write one, good for you, buy they are easily dismissed.
But it all starts with a grain of sand that attracts and forms the pearl. Do we have the ability to do it? I promise you that, if done correctly we do. Do we have the will? Are we upset enough? Can we rally behind one voice in a manner that cannot be dismissed and persevere? Well, that was the question I posted in the original fanpost. How upset are we? Really. Hey, it is all up to you guys. If you aren’t willing to organize, thats cool. I can spend this time in my woodshop making toys for the neighborhood kids.
I will follow up with this. One thing I have learned is that if you take on a goal, let it be known and move directly toward that goal, unexpected help will find you and assist you.
But, if we cannot get 50 people interested it will be like pissing into the wind. I am too old to waste my time on something that cannot succeed.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
I have made my point, numerous times
I will continue to monitor the site and the e-mail but I am done selling the idea. Now it is all up to you.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
Just a thought...
We may want to consider a standardized letter that we can copy and paste in order to convey our feelings tastefully and help with mass production. My fear is the angry fan who will spout off obscenities. I don’t want to be associated with that. Maybe something that shows what we stand for collectively as members of this site so that we will be taken seriously as a group of concerned fans, rather than ranting individuals.
If enough letters flood in to the stadium or Commissioners office one of them will eventually be read. It will have to become such an annoyance that they will have to take notice.
MIKE BROWN STEP DOWN!!!
Letter from Who Dey Revolution
Check out this letter that a guy wrote to the Bengals. He also mailed back his last two pieces of Bengals merchandise. I think it strikes the right “angry” tone without being obscene or ranting.
http://www.whodeyrevolution.com/whodeyrevolution/2010/12/the-nuclear-option.html
I recently wrote a letter in which I quoted the facts listed in the following article.
One of the commenters in the WDR post also suggested copying Peter King on the letter. I think that would be a good addition to a standard letter, copying it to King, ESPN, Yahoo! Sports, PFT, and/or whoever else.
28 say they are in. so fat only 4 have e-mailed me
I will explain my plan in detail if you e-mail me. If you agree join up. If you don’t tell me why and I will see if we can improve the approach. This is not my effort – it is your effort. I have a plan on how we can get started and initially organized. Then everyone will vote on a new leader to take it from there. Join up – get a voice – be heard – stop feeling frustrated – try to make a difference. There is a lot going on that I cannot post here. I promise you that this can work. Give me a chance to answer your concerns.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
Going to join up this weekend
Been working out of town and really busy. You can expect to hear from me Saturday though.

Thats cool Bonnie
I plan to send out a e-mail to the entire group this weekend detailing what my plan is and give out some info I have gathered. Everyone who responds on the e-mail will get the same info in this mailing. I will not be posting any further material information on the CJ site regarding our plans or organization. I will however be prepared to answer any general questions there.
Does anyone here, who is interested in joining the cause, have the time and skills to be our initial webmaster? I would like to get a free site set up as a halfway step toward getting a good one but I would like to discuss it before we actually do anything. We need a temporary place for members to correspond. I would like to get that pretty soon so we can move forward.
There are several reasons to believe that this effort can work where others have failed. Join up and e-mail me at bengalsnextstep@yahoo.com.

by JamesShively on Dec 16, 2010 5:41 PM EST up reply actions
It will never happen. I could never support or be a part of their movement.
Too much hate. Too much smack. It cannot be supported by the people it would take to help make the movement successful. It is a place where angry fans can go to be with other angry fans and laugh and giggle at each others worn out Mike Brown insults and jokes. I am sure they enjoy it and it may make them feel better and I can understand how a guy could get a laugh out of it..
I am not interested in getting laughs – I am interested in getting results. If anyone here thinks they have the right tactic I would encourage them to join their effort. I can only speak for myself, but I will not be part of any effort that embraces their manner of business. Why? Because it cannot work IMO. They are too easily dismissed as kooks and nuts gathered as an angry mob. I envision a movement that anyone and everyone can join without being labeled a kook or a nut.
If anyone who is thinking of joining out movement believes we will be the same a WDR I would suggest that they just go there and join up. We will be nothing like them if I have anything to say about it.and if we devolve into that, I will leave.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"

you could start a free blog
and it would provide an open forum for discussion/planning. But probably wouldn’t have the ability to post documents etc….
The Curse of Bo Jackson: Jan 13th,1991- present day
All I am looking for right now is a place where members can go....
and meet. A place where we can discuss business in private, make decisions, discuss differences and maybe find a way to accumulate funds so someone can set up a decent website. Answer questions like what do we call the movement, who will design the site, who will handle funds, who will control the funds and how do we elect a leader to replace me who is smarter and has the talent to take us where we need to go. There is a lot to do if we want to do it right. I just want to build a boat and shove off of the dock in the right direction and let the new leader, thru the consent of the members pilot it.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
if the initial roadblock is a common forum to discuss idea's
we coudl just do a chat room and have everyone emailed otu the times/days of the meeting. Do it weekly or whatever that way there is a weekly date set for serious members to come and plot/discuss. It could be as simple as setting up oovoo or skype accounts and doing it via video chat. these are just ideas to get the inital nails in the wood and building that foundation. Email chain would also be effective…
The Curse of Bo Jackson: Jan 13th,1991- present day
Know what else would be effective? Just ignore the team.
They always say any publicity is good publicity. How else you think this team got Hard Knocks? Brown probably loves this stuff. Keeps the team relevant even when they are awful. That’s how I protest, stop spending and stop paying attention. I think the Pacers got the hint when their fans did that, much more fan friendly now, and a real commitment to getting younger and more talented.
If protesting worked, WDR wouldn’t have failed. Just my take. More power to you guys.
E-mail me and listen to the plan. If you don't think it will work.........
don’t participate. MB could care less if you spend your money on the Bengals or not. It we want to empty a stadium or organize a boycott, it will take an organized effort – a serious and professional effort. I would only ask you to hear what it is before you dismiss it. .
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
Not buying anything
and not going to the games anymore will send a message that we don’t care and show MB and the NFL that the team does need to be moved to another city. We are proud fans and just want to win. Not give up and show we don’t care. That is what is happening in Jacksonville right now and they are leading the AFC south. The presumption of the fans is that they don’t care.
39 yes votes - 17 have e-mailed
Where are the rest of you? As I have said, IMO, we need 50 to move to the next step.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
cleveland did it and it kinda worked.
on november 16, 2009, Dawg Pound Mike, the emotional leader of the Dawg Pound, organized a boycott of the opening kickoff of the monday night game against the ravens.
the front office heard the fans loud and clear. on december 20, 2009 Randy Lerner hired Mike Holmgren to be the president of personnel operations. something must have gotten through to the owner. i can’t say whether i’m on board or not because i just don’t have time… i know that’s a shitty reason…
Groove, just take the time to stand up and be counted
Go to the e-mail site and I will send you a copy of a letter I sent out today to those who have shown up. You do not have to do a lot to be a part of this. Just a few minutes a week and if you can down the road we might ask for a few dollars, but that will be voluntary. Right now all I ask is that you take a look. It only takes a few minutes.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
41 yes votes - 21 e-mails
Get on board and make a difference.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
Yeah, please guys
We have 41 yes votes and 21 emails so where are you guys that voted yes. We need your bright minds and your determination to make a difference.
WE CAN DO THIS GUYS…I promise! We have to stick this out for the fans, you and everyone. I wouldn’t even be surprised if we can get some more support by some of former Bengals again, like in 2002, the letters that they wrote. But bigger and better with more former players.
There’s another idea fellas. This can work. Enough is enough!
We need a name and we need to start a Facebook page.
This I think this could catch fire if we had enough people hitting the “like” button. Hell I would even spam Chad’s page for us every time he posted something. LOL The name should instantly give people a reason to check out the page. You want your 50 people I think it’s time to expand outside of Cincyjungle :)
Also anyone who has agreed to be involved needs to create a facebook page if they don't have one.
This would be at the very least a foundation and away to organize as a group and discuss what we plan to do.
by JamesShively on Dec 23, 2010 6:26 PM EST up reply actions
That's a good idea, but I think we need to
keep the first 50 people, to people we know and trust. That way we can keep the core people the decision makers. That way things don’t get out of hand and go off in another direction. We want to stay on the original philosophy. I think this is what JJ was talking about. If you can trust someone to stay with our course (that being civil) then by all means ask him to join right now. Then we can broaden the horizons to facebook and other means of soliciting.
And I do think your right, we need to start talking about a name.
I kinda like the Bengalsnextstep though, but that’s just me. What do you have?
Heck if you just figure out the name I will set the page up.
When it’s ready I will email everyone copied in the emails already sent. This will give us a visual presence to gain more support. Obviously we will eventually need to expand to our own website but this would be a start and a way to gain members. Members whom may have more experience than we do in setting up websites :)
by JamesShively on Dec 23, 2010 6:31 PM EST up reply actions
You're right about the Facebook page.
Can anyone think of a catchy name?
by BonnieBengal on Dec 23, 2010 6:40 PM EST up reply actions
Guys, I am happy to see the interest, and there are several good ideas here
Yes, we need a name. Yes, we can use face book and many other media tools. I hope that we can use all of them. But, IMO, it is very important that, at this early stage. we need to be very careful to get started with a core group of committed fans. Once we have a solid list of core people, hopefully 50, we will have enough credibility to move to other Bengal sites and find other members there.
The forst 50 will be the ones who shape everything. They will elect someone to lead. They will vote on a name. They will select the management committee. They will write and approve our mission statement. They will vote on the web design. As the twig is bent, so grows the tree. I am just trying to get the twig planted, nurture the roots and stake it so it grows straight.
Please, trust me, just for a little while. I promise I will not let you down. Once the effort takes root and is growing straight, I will step down and let the members decide exactly where we go from there. These are all good Ideas but I would like to see a bit more of a developed concept before we go “public.” Is that fair?
There are going to be many, many ideas proposed and suggested. Some will be good and some may detract from our mission. I promise that we will consider them all. The only thing that I will promote very strongly is the need to keep this upbeat and professionally business like. IMO it is absolutely essential to the mission. Be patient, this is not as easy to organize as it may look.
Josh has expressed interest in helping, but it is possible that he wants to make sure we are committed before he endorses us publicly. I want the people here on CJ to be the ones who make this happen and if we can put it all together and make the plan happen we must not forget that is CJ is where it all started. I will be very interested in putting a link to CJ on the new site. Please be patient. There is a lot going on behind the scenes.
