Draft Picks

To all Bengals fans listening. The 2009 draft has proven fair to good at best with "Jelly Moobs" problems. But he was showing promise until the recent foot break. He will return and contribute. Rey58 was billed as the next Butkus but has fallen off this year somewhat. He needs to be in the middle next year and will improve there. Coffman will be the secret weapon as a slot receiver next year considering his record setting performance in college. He can line up in the slot or come in double tight end set. MJ needs to stay at DE and forget the LB crap.

The 2010 draft was excellent considering Gresham, Shipley, Dunlap and Atkins performances to date. LeFevour has all the credentials and college stats to be an awesome QB once Hue Jackson, our next HC, gets here. Make him #2 behind CP9 and cut JP5. Draft a mid to late round QB as insurance. So one could say MB and the coaches are finally drafting quality players, especially in 2010. Who gets credit MB or Marvin or both?

This brings up an interesting scenario at WR. Do you resign TO and keep Chad? Or trade Chad and keep TO to acquire a second round choice? TO will be less expensive and has indicated he wants to come back. The correct money play is the later choice by eliminating Chads contract and pick up a second rounder. Then move Shipley to WR and alternate him in the slot with Coffman for a little unpredictability for opposing D's. Lets be done with Simpson, Cosby and Caldwell just cut 'em. Use the second rounder to get a WR.

Defense is another topic in itself. Can we all say DT, Safety and LB. Bring back Kyries Hebert and special teams will improve. Anyone else notice the drop off his absense has made?

Offensive needs OL at both guards and a RB, like John Clay from Wisconsin, which suits our division. Ced may move on but I would like to see him stay. Scott is good but not suited for 20+ carries a game. Leonard is a keeper. Use Pressley at FB and mix in some carries much like we used Pete Johnson. Lets hope the Bengals shit can the TE as FB idea, its not working. Did anyone notice how the 49ers drafted two first round OL in 2010(McCoy & Iupati)? They will be awesome next year. Look at what the Pats did to the Jets last night, Brady had all day to pass. We need that kind of protection for CP9.

The point of this is MB and his coaching staff have put together two good years of drafting quality players. The problem is coaching these players or lack thereof. The team needs to cut unproductive veterans and underachieving players. What say you whodey?
