Bengals Rookie Cornerback Brandon Ghee Heads To Injured Reserve
Brandon Ghee, the team's second third round pick selected 96th overall, is heading to the Injured Reserve list on Wednesday. Largely hoped to be some hybrid multi-purpose cornerback/safety when the team elected not to draft a safety last year, Ghee has gone largely unnoticed throughout much of his rookie season sitting fourth on the team's cornerback depth chart.
Ghee, primarily a special teams contributor, has been on the injury report since the week leading up to the Buffalo Bills game with a groin injury. The rookie out of Wake Forest is the fourth defensive back and the eighth defensive player placed on Injured Reserve since October 26.
The Bengals quickly filled the gap by promoting linebacker Vincent Rey of the team's practice squad. Rey, an undrafted free agent out of Duke, finished the preseason tied for third on the team with 15 tackles.

Are we over working people? Or are not working them hard enough to get in to football shape?
It seriously seems like this team is filled with guys that can’t maintain a season… Year in and year out.. Are we drafting and signing guys that don’t have NFL caliber strength? Can we blame this on the strength and conditioning personnel? Is it medical staff? I mean come the f!@# on….

Some years you just have shitty luck with injuries. We were mostly healthy last year. This year, not so much.

Last year?
I’ll disagree with that.
If your talking IR, then yeah. But towards the end of the season we had a bunch of injured players. Happens year end and year out.
This is absolutely a Mike Brown thing
He himself admitted this in 2008:
Q: You have had 20 players go on injured reserve this season. Is there a problem somewhere in the organization that you have so many season-ending injuries?
A: "Twenty-one. (Safety Marvin) White will go on injured reserve today. He tore his ACL yesterday (against the Ravens) and still played more than half of the game. … (The injuries), I wish I had an explanation for it. We have led the league in injured reserve players the past couple of years. It is a problem. We are looking for a solution."
When you cut corners on your training staff and force your players to practice in the cold, you’re guaranteed to lead the league in injuries. This is one of several reasons the bengals will never be competitive until MB dies, changes his ways, or steps down
Q: Are you going to essentially fire yourself and hire a general manager?

I want to see some Vincent Rey action
that guy looked like 240 lbs of relentless muscle. Could he end up becoming the next James Harrison?
