The Hammer Weighs in on the Draft Round 1

Round 1.I've seen plenty of mock drafts and I keep saying the same thing with the Bengals taking a TE,DT or WR.  I agree those are three areas that need to be addressed especially TE.  I, however, feel the TE position can be addressed later in the draft or through free agency.  I can't see spending a first round pick on a TE and who knows if the only first round potential Jermaine Gresham is even healthy enough.

DT is something we can always use, keeps our LB's free to roam and do what they do best.  WR is obviously a big need as we still need a number 2 that eventually could overtake Ocho as the main guy.  Bryant will be gone, Gilyard isn't a first round guy, Tate has great potential but is short but can anyone say Desean Jackson? Williams from USC is a Ocho clone and has good size but I'm interested in the Thomas kid from GT.  He played in a running offense but has tremendous size and strength the question is can he run.  If he runs well I see him being a first rounder.  Another position which I haven't seen is DE since we need more pressure on the QB.  I think the the best pass rushers will be gone by the time we pick but a guy like Graham (Michigan) or Griffen (USC) will be available although I'm not 100% sold on Griffen.

With all that said I would like to see in order - FS - Thomas (Texas) , DT - Williams (Tenn), DT - Price (UCLA), FS - Mays (USC), WR - Thomas (GT - if he runs well), WR - Tate (Notre Dame), WR - Willims (USC), DE/OLB Graham (Michigan)
