Don't look now Holmgren and Browns are reloading...Quinn to Denver...
CBS Sports is reporting Cleveland just sent Brady Quinn to Denver for RB Peyton Hillis and a 2011 Draft Pick. Our Bengals have done some decent things so far this offseason but look out Holmgren and the Browns are reloading. They have signed QB Delhomme, let's see if he has anything left in the tank besides interceptions, TE Watson from NE, a trade for Seneca Wallace QB of Holmgren's old stomping ground Seattle. They have also picked up LB Fujita from NO and OL Pashos from the 49ers. They are making a ton of noise up north and if they can put it together it will begin to worry me as the 2010 season comes upon us. Should we fear the Holmgren Browns?

Not much of an upgrade.
If Delhomme can’t prosper w/ the Panther’s running game and a top WR in Steve Smith, what makes them think he’s going to turn his career around with the Browns?
Quinn was given zero chance to develop there. Who knows, maybe he could have been a decent starter somewhere else. Holmgren’s no joke though, so we’ll see.
not threatened...
yet. I think Holmgren is making some really aggressive moves, but I’m fairly certain this team is pretty far away from being competitive. They could improve a ton next year though
Holmgren is obviously serious about trying something new up there by the burning river.
But I will not be scared until I see how all these new pieces fall together. It could be the funniest disaster to watch this season, or a big ugly surprise when they beat us..

Hell, they almost beat us last year!
Remember the OT game? So just a little upgrade will go a long way. I’m surprised they got rid of Wimbley though, he was a solid linebacker.

i kind of feel bad for brady quinn and kyle orton at the same time. i know all the negative criticism of orton, but the guy does have a pretty good record as a starter, and it’s not as if he was on some world-beating bears teams. as for quinn, i still don’t believe he ever got a fair shake in cleveland. i say we should always fear the browns because otherwise we end up 15 seconds away from another tie.
i'm going to go america all over your ass!
Did I Miss Something
Exactly which of those moves by the Browns am I supposed to be impressed with? Holmgren traded Quinn for a fullback? And a draft pick to be named later?
This is reloading? Watson is good, but the Patriots made no effort to keep him. Without Randy Moss and Wes Welker opening up the middle of the field, and Tom Brady thowing to him, is Watson really going to be that good?
Senaca Wallace – Sucks
Jake Delhomme – Sucks
These are not great quarterbacks, and they still do not have any receivers to throw to.
Holmgren might turn the Browns around, but it will not be with these moves. Let’s see what they do in the draft, though it looks like they will be drafting a QB early.

lol.

Update
Watching Sportscenter and it seems a 6th round this year and a conditional pick next year. I don’t think either of these QB’s are going to be the Messiah for the Browns. But Holmgren is shaking things up enough and with their militant coach guys are going to start playing like it is their last down.

Fujita is a good pickup
the rest are nothing to be concerned about. Even the addition of Fujita is somewhat offset by the loss of Wimbley.
As for Denver trading for Brady Quinn.. HA!
I can’t believe the talking heads are raving about what a great move that was for Denver. Quinn is and always has been a nobody.
We are in a position right now where we need to fear every team we play.
Last year we lost to Oakland, and the Lions and Browns took us to the edge. You can’t afford to take any teams lightly when you play down to bad opponents like the Bengals did last year.
