Bengals Draft Tim Tebow? NFL.com Mock: Jason Pierre-Paul DE
If Tebow is sitting there in the third round at the Bengals pick, I would have to draft him. He could bring an awesome work ethic and the hard nosed leadership that comes with the package that is "Tim Tebow." Why not take a shot at him? It could put some pressure on Palmer/be his successor, be an experimental player at Wildcat and at other different positions, then most of all for Mike Brown it will sell a bunch of tickets. I say why not? There seems to be no downside to drafting him in the 3rd or even possible 2nd (depending on who is there), I can really see this a possiblility. He will have nothing but a positive effect on this franchise on and off the field, and possibly throughout the city of Cincinnati. Could it be? Tim Tebow coming to CIncy? You just never know and that is what excites me most about the NFL Draft, I'm just wondering who would be against having Tebow on our team?
I would hate for him to go to a division rival such as the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Cleveland Browns, head coach's from both teams were at Florida's pro day on Wedensday. All 32 teams were present at Flroida's pro day, I'm just not to sure who was there for the Bengals.
Tebow threw dozens of passes to former teammates Riley Cooper, Aaron Hernandez and David Nelson during a 30-minute workout in front of more than 100 scouts and coaches representing all 32 NFL teams. Among those in attendance:
Carolina Panthers GM Marty Hurney and coach John Fox; Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren, GM Tom Heckert, and coach Eric Mangini; Pittsburgh Steelers director of football operations Kevin Colbert and coach Mike Tomlin; New York Giants GM Jerry Reese and coach Tom Coughlin; Jacksonville Jaguars GM Gene Smith and offensive line coach Andy Heck; Tampa Bay Buccaneers GM Mark Dominik and coach Raheem Morris; and Green Bay Packers GM Ted Thompson.

Tim Tebow just screams AFC North...........Who Dey!!!!!!
NFL.com's 3rd version of their 2010 NFL mock draft has the Cincinnati Bengals drafting defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul out of South Florida:
21. Cincinnati Bengals
Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South FloridaWith the signing of Antonio Bryant, the need to go wide receiver in the draft has ended. The Bengals figure to go with the defensive end that has lots of potential, but very little experience. (Previous pick: Demaryius Thomas)

I’d take him in the 4th without hesitation. In the 3rd… dunno. Maybe.
He’s got the athletic skills but he probably needs two or three years to develop first. If Carson can bounce back from his injuries and jitters then we won’t need him for five or six and he’s long gone as a FA before we play him. If Carson can’t bounce back, we need a replacement in 2011 and Tebow probably won’t be ready.
But if he was still there in the 4th, I’d take him anyway. I’m sure we could figure out some way to make him useful for his time here, regardless if it was two years or twelve.
For those who can't remember the uncapped FA rules, this link's for you.
Correction… I’m sure we could figure out some way… so long as Bratworst is gone in 2011…

3rd round?
He’s been invited to the draft, so chances are he might not even make it out of the first and should definitely be gone by the 3rd. If by some strange turn of events, he is available in the 3rd then it could be a wise move to strongly consider taking him considering we have no quarterback for the long term/future on the roster (yes I realize jordan palmer is younger than carson). Besides that fact, if we were to end up with him, I’m willing to bet there are a host of other teams out there that would be interested in trading for him. In which case we could upgrade a position in need of more immediate help.
If hes there in the 3rd round, then NO
if enough teams dont think he can play QB, then we shouldnt either

Tebow is the kind of guy
who’s college success won’t translate to the NFL. In fact I’d say Tebow is just a poor man’s Vince Young. He had a lot of talent around him in college (as did Young), ran a scheme that doesn’t work in the NFL that let him run quite a bit (as did Young). The difference is Young is a much more dangerous runner and has a much better arm.

I disagree
This guy wins football games, that’s what he does. His work ethic is the best and he will be a hall of famer. He will learn to play QB in the NFL and become great, I’m a gator hater but just watch this guy become a star. If we dont get him he will just beat us in the future, he could be groomed to be Palmer’s replacement. It is not like he will start first day. Their is no downside to drafting Tebow at all……AT ALL!!!!

Florida
wins football games. They’d win a lot of games with Joe Schmoe at QB.
If he was drafted in round 4 or 5 that might be appropriate, but I wouldn’t blow a high pick on a guy who is still fixing his throwing motion.

Whoever drafts Tebow will give him a fair shake,
be it as a traditional quarterback or as a Wildcat guy, so I think he will have some moderate success in the NFL wherever he goes. He is definately an athlete and a competitor, so you have to believe he will be good for the locker room and the community.
No amount of prosperity is sufficient to eliminate all misfortune, and sloth is impervious to opportunity.
Quarterback
We need someone to step up an not be afraid of playing.Carson seems to be done! He doesn’t have what it takes any more.Maybe this will give him something to worry about,an start playing like he did before he got hurt in 2005.
I say why not.
If he’s available I’d take a chance on him. As much as I love Palmer I think we need to start grooming a young quarterback for the future…whether it’s Tebow, or somebody else. But the guy’s a competitor, durable, and athletic.
"I really dig Hannibal. Hannibal had real guts. He rode elephants into Cartilage." - Mike Tyson
It's a tough call.
For one, does anybody really trust our coaching staff to develop this guy? The guy is a major project, and I don’t know if I can justify using a draft pick on a guy who is so uncertain to pan out.
On the other hand, I think an understated need is an understudy for Palmer. I, for one, do not think his best days are behind him. Call it homerism, but I think he’s going to prove some people wrong this season. However, as has been proven, he’s not incredibly durable. When the guy goes down, who do we have to step up? Just think back to O’Sullivan in week 16 and see if that doesn’t make you a little bit nervous.
I've got a feeling,
that may be totally unfounded, that Tebow is going to the Browns. Holmgren likes the guy, and he’s said he’s going to take a QB. Bradford won’t be there, and he’s said he’s not taking Clausen. Delhomme will give them a cushion of a couple years to groom Tebow to be the franchise guy, and what has been the key phrase in this Browns rebuilding process? Changing the losing culture. If nothing else, Tebow would bring a winning attitude to the Browns. I think it’s going to happen.
