Shawn Andrews now a free agent.
Now that Stacey Andrews is finally healthy in Philadelphia, the Eagles decided they no longer need the services of his younger brother, Shawn Andrews. Shawn Andrews, a former two time pro-bowler in 2006 and 2007, played in a total of two games in 2008 and 2009. The Eagles saved 2 million this season by releasing Shawn Andrews. Their official statement on Shawn's release read, ""We have, however, decided to move in another direction."
Shawn is cheap, has potential, and has issues. Sounds like a perfect fit for Mike Brown's Bengals. Also one could view this as the Bengals getting something back from the Eagles for the signing of Stacey Andrews.
Shawn's desire to play football again has been the question, the Eagles appear to believe he's lost interest in the game. Shawn's own comments from a recent radio interview about the situation speak otherwise, "The doctor said that if you don't plan on playing football again I suggest you don't have surgery. And I had another surgery. I went through that whole thing." When asked if Shawn is still able to play at a pro-bowl level, "I don't know if I should say this on the air, but hell, yes. That's a definite for me."
A 27 year old guard with something to prove and willing to do it for cheap. Might this be a move worth the Bengals time and effort this season?

I'd be all for it on a one or two year deal
Let him prove he still wants it.
Some say a comet will fall from the sky. Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still. Followed by millions of dumbfounded dips**ts.
He might be another "Why Not?" guy
If we could sign him for cheap and see if he can still play, then I’d say go for it. Worst case scenario is that you end up cutting him. Sounds like a Matt Jones kind of situation. Low risk, High reward.
This is our year!
haha... Its become a recruiting tool
Whenever someone breaks the law… We’ll be there! Whenever somebody has a bad reputation… We’ll be there! Whenever somebody is injury prone… We-will-be-there my friends.
*but only if you’re willing to sign for really cheap.
Sounds Good
If it were Stacy Andrews, I’d pass. But Shawn Andrews, for a one or two year deal could work out. But if we get him, Iupati is out of the question.
Slim 15, you will be missed. RIP Chris Henry

GOOD MOVE
We should sign him, would be an excellent move. If we did do this, we should still draft a G to compete with him, but just not in the 1st round, maybe the 3rd. If Ol’ Mike boy decides to do this it opens are options up tremendously for the first round. At that point we would pretty much take the best available outside of a OL, WR, or QB.
