Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Sets Assist High In Easy Win Over Sacramento

Hi, hows everything in Cincy?

I am usually at Big Cat Country, and right now I am trying to track down the former Jacksonville Jaguar draft picks. I am wondering, Matt Jones was signed by you guys, but was he signed as a TE or as a wide reciever? Multiple sources said different things and I thought he was signed as a tight end and I said that in reply to a BCC article and a much better blogger called me on it. Also, who will the Bengals most likely take in the 1st? I am putting a personal Mock Draft together that I hope to post soon to MTD and BCC.

Thanks for your help guys, and I personally hope you obliterate PIT and BAL next year!

WR

He’s tall enough to be a TE, but not heavy enough, particularly with the emphasis on the line-blocking role that is expected of the TE in our OC’s system.

Hard to say about who we’ll draft. At #21, much depends on who’s available. My personal preference would be for Earl Thomas, but he may well be gone by then. Moreover, there’s plenty of other opinions among the frequent posters / commenters on this blog (Iupati, Gresham, Mays, etc., etc.).

Mr.X is right

About Matt Jones – Spot on
About the # 21 pick – Quite a few mock drafts have us taking TE Jermaine Gresham since TE is considered a need, but a lot the regulars don’t seem to think its a good idea since he is the sort that can catch, but not line-block very well (which we already have in our last years 3rd round pick Chase Coffman) and like X said that’s critical for the Bengals.
Given all the WRs we now have to choose from (Ochocinco, Jones, Bryant, Caldwell, Simpson, Cosby) its safe to say that’s not going to be addressed in the first round.
My personal favorites for the Bengals to pick in the 1st round are S Earl Thomas and (if he’s gone) DT Brian Price
Good luck with your mock draft!
