Note from a Colts Fan

Hi, everyone,

As a Colt's' fan, I'm used to class, squeaky-clean records, and no trash-talk. I watched a lot of the Bengals this past season and as of late I have also heard that the Cincinnati Bengals are becoming the official rehab team of the NFL for felons and locker-room nightmares. The reasons why these remarks are coming out is because of your signings of people like Antonio Bryant, Tank Johnson, Cedric Benson, etc.

The main reason I'm writing this note to you folks is that I wholeheartedly disagree with these idiots. What the Bengals are doing is fabulous. Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis are truly kind and good-hearted people because they have taken all of these players that other teams have dumped for one reason or another and helped either turn their life around or just provided a little guidance. You guys aren't just picking these guys up because they have potential (don't get me wrong, that's a large factor). You're also picking them up because the owner and coach believe that they can help these players. They truly care about the players.

You're also staying away from the folks who have been dumped and should not be picked up by anyone (Pacman).

I just wanted to let you guys know that I think that the Cincinnati Bengals have just as much class as the Colts.

On a sidenote, I also wanted to say that I think your defense is a safety away from being a perennial top five defense. I think that Taylor Mays would be the best fit but you guys would know better. Also, Mike Zimmer does not get nearly enough of the credit that he deserves.

Good Luck Next Year (Except of course when you visit Indy).

Sincerely,

Stonewall

shhh...not so loud.

Cincy knows how good Zim is. We just don’t want the rest of the league to know it.

It's good to hear a positive outside opinion.

As fans fed up with two decades of mediocrity and worse, we often attribute it to cheapness.

Positve comments

We are so used to hearing negative comments and it’s old news. We have turned a corner and are doing it the right way. Thanks for the good comments.

A good perspective on the rehabilitative capabilities of Marvin and the boys.

thanks...

but if you think Marvin & Mikey are bringing in troubled FAs to “help them out” and “aren’t just picking these guys up because they have potential” you have a much better opinion of them than we do.

They sign guys they think can help them win games. Mikey cares less about history and red flags than other GMs, but it’s still all about trying to bring in talented players. Sadly Mikey thinks he’s a phenomenal talent scout, so he doesn’t bother to hire professional scouts for that job.

oh yeah? well i think peyton manning is an overrated douchebag who got lucky on that one and only super bowl win...

WHOA! crap, dude… i am really sorry… that’s just my defense mechanism kicking in since i typically have to defend this team.

all jokes aside, that’s a great way to look at it and we’re happy to have an outsider’s perspective be this positive. we hope we can continue our winning ways too! thanks!
