Mike Brown Please Listen
Mike,
You need to get Brandon Marshall. He has the hands and the talent to make the Bengals great. If Denver only wants a first round draft pick then get him. It is an uncapped year for free agents and you can spend a little bit of money for increased revenue in viewership and tickets sold. If you are thinking about getting a wide receiver in the first round forget about it and consider Brandon. Then you can pick up a tight end in the second round and work on other areas from there. It would be ignorant not to get a new wide receiver. Especially someone that catches balls (21 catches in a single game) and doesn't drop very many catches. I wouldn't be disappointed it you did this.
Another thing that you should think about is changing your stance on slumming (picking bad people). Right now you have slummed your way to matt jones, lavernus Coles, Tank Johnson, Roy Williams. It's not that I think that all of these people are bad, but we never go out and get someone that is good. Some of our draft picks have panned out but others haven't. Our cornerbacks, quarterback (not recently great), and defensive ends were great draft picks. However, Jerome Simpson was not a very good pick. Cedric Benson was a good pick but how often does something that good happen to the Bengals while they are slumming. It is sickening that you would not consider Brandon Marshall. You need to open your eye's change your stance on slumming. Go for the gold just once.

Marshall & Money
Go get Marshall. Consider the contract you establish on first round draft choices $20-30 mil on long term contracts for unproven and unknown pro potential players. So, give up the first round, pay the grease and establish Marshall to a five year deal. Comes out cheaper than a first round unknown and he’s ready to work.
