Rosenhaus Tweet: Tank Johnson, pack your bags. We're going on a trip.
Drew Rosenhaus, the bane of front offices everywhere, represents Tank Johnson. This Twitter post tells me that he wasn't happy with the Bengals offer, if one was made, and that Tank will be testing the market.

Mike Brown and Kate Blackburn
obviously have a way with completely insulting agent’s with either their offer’s or their lack of hospitality… Either way someone needs to teach them how to run a professional sports team… I suppose we can find someone who has experience like Tank in the draft…
i would not be suprised if we dont sign anyone

I think
it might be the fact that they run the organization as well as own it. So they know if they do more than the draft it’s extra paper work for them.. Much easier to just draft people every year and not worry about the rest. I mean who cares if we win as long as we don’t have all that work on our desks..
Does Tank deserve much of a contract?
for a penetrating type of DT he doesn’t get many sacks. He is decent against the run but he got manhandled a few times and his play against Detroit was pitiful (no pressure and no penetration of any kind against an inferior line). Although i’d like him back to depth… its not like he set the world on fire.
He played pretty well when he was healthy.
He wasn’t a Pro Bowl DT, but he was a solid rotational DT that knew his job in our system, and I think he played very well for us.
He’s not going to get much on the open market w/ this year’s depth at DT and this may be a power play from the shark.
sounds similar
to Benson’s flirting with the Texans last year to me. One team i wouldn’t try these types of moves against is the Bengals though. Once they’ve made their mind up on a players value that’s it.

It's crazy to think...
that the Bengals went out and signed this guy last year after reading these comments. What made them do such a crazy thing? Were they high last year? Signing FA, pfft! Get MB some MJ, let’s see if we can bring back last year’s magic!
Sorry for my sarcasm, just seems ironic to complain about not signing a FA, when in fact they did sign him as FA at one point.
THIS BLOWS THIS BLOWS THIS BLOWS
O DID I SAY THIS BLOWS
I think the complaint is more along the lines of professionalism.
Rosenhaus tweet seems full of indignation.
Well it wasn't just a response to any one comment on this article,
just a general statement on that attitude. I’ve read on too many sites the past week that the Bengals won’t sign any FA b/c they are cheap and they never sign any FA. It gets a little old. Team had just about a .500 team (56-55-1) since 03. Yeah, things aren’t great, but this isn’t the 90s Bengals anymore. It still is bad, but it’s not the travesty it once was.
FWIW, Rosenhaus is kind of a tool. What else would anyone expect of him? Why even tweet this? Cuz he’s a tool.
Well, there hasn't exactly been a marquee FA acquisition in Cincinnati in quite some time.
It’s not as bad as the 1990s, but the front office hasn’t learned. When they spend money, it’s on players like Coles, and not on players like Boldin who are still in their prime and producing even when injured.
No one saw Coles being this bad this year, but I question the organization’s ability to identify and target talent effectively.
didnt Coles sign a similar deal to Boldin?

I'm sorry, but...
Isn’t the goal of a sports team supposed to be winning? Or is it just making sure the owners are in the black? Following the Bengals has made me lose site of what professional franchises are supposed to do.
FML.
+1
but with winning comes money. Super Bowls = $

The goal of the team is up to the owner
I have always thought that MB wants to win he doesn’t know how. Also this is the family business. If it goes under what do the Browns have? Would you takes risks that could put your family on the street to win a silly game?
