Bengals express interest in FB Naufahu Tahi... again
Around this time last year, the Bengals inquired about Vikings FB Naufahu Tahi. Well, apparently they're at it again. Last year, the Bengals signed Tahi to a $1.4M offer sheet that the Vikings matched. This year, it'll take at least $1.2M, says the Star Tribune.
Tahi once again is a restricted free agent, and this time he was given the tender of right of first refusal by the Vikings, meaning the team has the right to match any offer he receives but won't get compensation if they fail to do so.
People with knowledge of the situation say the Bengals again have inquired about Tahi. The tender the Vikings gave Tahi this time calls for him to make $1.2 million in 2010.
Tahi is obviously a solid blocker, and is very inactive in the running game. He caught 10 passes last year for 67 yards and one touchdown. Tahi received the lowest RFA tender this year, meaning that if the Vikings don't match, the Bengals don't have to give up a draft pick.

Where did you find this???
love it, by the way. They wanted to get rid of Jermi for years but they arent any fullbacks in the NFL anymore. Tahi is one of the best, if not, the best.
JSL, I must say, you are the man
Less then 10 mins on the response and your gonna link it. Eat your heart out Geoff!
Yeah, I'm kind of a nerd.
But now I’m finally going to go to bed!
I like Tahi. If it’s a no-compensation tender, I really hope the offer sheet the Bengals put together for him is something the Vikings aren’t willing to match. He’s proven that he can be an extremely effective lane-opener in Minnesota.
Article says its no comp, just Vikings can match our offer.....
C’mon Mikey you messed this up before. I think we need to go above 1.7 mil. Fullbacks dont exist anymore.
Tahi is a beast
He’d be a great fit on our team, especially if we’re committed to running people over for the next 5-10 years. I’m surprised the Vikings didn’t tender him, cause they love that guy here (I’m living in Minnesota), but I’m all for bringing him into Cincy. Give him 1.5 and Benson will only have to run straight from this point on.
This is our year!
