2010 NFL Draft: With the 191st Overall Pick the Cincinnati Bengals Select Dezmon Briscoe Wide Receiver From Kansas
With the 191st overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select Dezmon Briscoe, wide receiver from Kansas. Cincinnati addressed the wide receiver position on Friday with the 84th overall pick in Jordan Shipley. However, the team is apparently aiming at developing a wide receiver competition that will pit nearly 10 wide receivers for four spots on the roster. Which they should, after several wide receivers turned in disappointing 2009 seasons. ESPN ranks Briscoe as the 15th best wide receiver while Mocking the Draft ranks him ninth, calling him a weapon in the red zone for his leaping ability. The two biggest knock on Briscoe, according to Mocking the Draft, is acceleration and his hands.

A little perspective from a Kansas fan
Granted, I don’t know much about scouting and the draft, and I am not a fan of the NFL, but I think you guys got a steal with this pick. He does have some attitude issues, as he was suspended for a game last year for violating team rules (not sure exactly what he did). But, he was probably the second best wide receiver in the Big 12 last year, behind obviously Bryant. He has an amazing ability, as shown in the video up top, not to mention, he didn’t perform well at the combine. If you can control his attitude, he can do some great things for you guys.

Next Year
WR Desmond Briscoe, Kansas
Does Briscoe really belong on this list? Ask Oklahoma. Briscoe had catches of 25, 40, 47 and 69 yards against the Sooners. He had at least three plays covering 20 yards against OU, Louisiana Tech, Nebraska and Minnesota ? all bowl teams. He also had 23 plays of at least 20 yards. And he had a 40-yard kickoff return. Briscoe’s 15.3 yards-per-catch average was the nation’s highest for players with at least 90 receptions.
Here's a play from his sophomore year....one of my favorites

the guy is a football player plain and simple. As long as he’s matured and focuses his effort, he’ll definitely provide some solid depth.
53 Conference Championships!! and now 6 IN A ROW!!! Holy Hell...Good Luck with That!!
I love this pick
I hope he plays well enough to find a spot on the team.
Briscoe
Man from what I,ve seen from video up top, this guy gives 100% on every play, I am glad that he is in Bengal stripes now. The only problem now is we have 10 wr,s and only room for 4??

Briscoe is the steal of the draft in the 6th round
NFL.com ranked him as the 5th best WR
Mack Brown had Dez Bryant but regretted missing on Briscoe
Bengals will be happy with this WR
He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is
amazing reciever
This guy is an amazing steal in the 6th. He may not have top end speed, but he is like a tight end when it comes to trying to tackle him. He reminds me of Plaxico Burress. Great value.
