Agent: Running Back DeShawn Wynn Visiting Cincinnati This Week

David Canter is an agent that represents Bengals linebacker Rashad Jeanty. Canter tweets that another one of his clients, former Packers running back DeShawn Wynn will be visiting the Bengals this week to workout. Wynn will also visit with the New York Giants.

Since the close of free agency, the Bengals have targeted safety and running back as two spots that still need to be addressed (we'd argue that open competition for backup quarterback would be nice too). Along with rookie minicamp approaching this weekend, the team is entertaining several players like safeties Ken Hamlin and C.C. Smith this week while already signing running back Cedric Peerman.

Wynn is a three-year player with 64 career rush attempts.

If i'm not mistaken

Wynn was born in Cincinnati. The guy is also 5’10" and about 230lbs so that is a nice solid back who could spot Benson. This move sounds ridicously smart and i hope he signs with us. He also can take it to the house, he’s had a longest run of 73 yards.

But a question remains… is this the end of the world? because Cincy are being proactive and smart in free agency filling needs and making camp ultra competitive

i think you hit the nail on the smoorman

i think marvin has a lot more pull in the warroom, especially after he’s shown what he can do with Mike Zimmer.

Sheffield,

you’re right, he went to Reading High School, then went on to have a productive career at Florida (BCS Nat’l Championship team i believe)

Wynn was born in Cincy he played high school ball at Reading High School

He was considered one of the best running backs if not the best running back in Cincy when he played here, He was recruited to Florida highly based off of his junior year of high school. When he got to Florida he was out of shape and had lost his speed from high school and fell off. My high school football teammate had and older sister who used to date Deshawn Wynn while he is in high school, she currently has a kid with Marcus Fitzgerald, [Larry Fitz younger brother] She also used to date OSU DB Brandon Underwood

Thanks Trevor. Kevin Hamlin is a NASCAR driver and for some reason, that was the name in my mind. Anyway, thanks.

I think that all of this open competition

is great to have. We are now starting to have competition with some real football players. Before Marvin got here there seem to none, or at least very little. And when there was, it was with players that were backups that started for the Bengals. Marvin is pushing these guys and making them realize that their jobs can be taken with other pro caliber players, if they slack. No more of the old same ole same ole Mikey Boy shit..
I like what I’m seeing here. This is what it was like when Paul Brown was in control.
I see a SuperBowl coming in the near future…. Who Dey!!
