I found this "report" on Bleacher Report. I have been unable to confirm through google news searches or other sites with Bengals news. The article actually states "Well, this was confirmed by sources within the Cincinnati area. Russell will attend the minicamp, with the hopes of impressing the Bengals enough to sign him."
Not sure where I stand on this... Jamarcus Russell was apparently a very good quarter back at LSU. If you look at when he was drafted, and held out for his full rookie season it seems as maybe he got over confident in his job security. I had heard that during minicamp he was in better shape and was working harder than ever before, but it too little too late, bye bye Russell.
If, just maybe, getting cut was a wakeup call and with Carson Palmer to mentor him, maybe he can make something of himself as a quarterback and turn a bust into a bang.
As I said, I am not sure where I stand on this... somebody who busted that bad, was it just lack of drive and over confidence? Or is there something more to it? It's interesting to say the least, but I don't know if I like it.
If anyone can confirm or deny this report, please comment. Also comment on your thoughts on the article and the possibility of him redeeming himself.
