Bengals Banter: Sometimes Things Just Get Slow
+ Chick Ludwig writes that it'll be a nasty competition at wide receiver once you get past the starters, Chad Ochocinco and Antonio Bryant.
+ There were some great stories during Sunday's Marvin Lewis Golf Classic with many big reunions.
+ Congratulations to the Cincinnati Cyclones, taking home their second ECHL title in three years after a 2-1 win on Friday.
+ The Reds did us proud, taking two out of three against Cleveland.
+ Read a take about the epic Lost finale. Did you watch? What did you think?

Since it is slow,
How about a write up on one of the most famous coaches in Bengals history? No, the other one that was a camp last week…..Bruce Coslet. Anybody see that ole Bruce was at OTA’s last week. Why? What in the hell was he doing there. Is Mikey Boy thinking about bringing him back for some reason? Who’s more famous Bruce Coslet or Dave Shula? Something that might be interesting considering the slow down..Or just a little stir up.
He was there fr Marvins golf tourney
This past weekend. And he stopped by.
RIP Slim.

speaking of slow
did anyone else watch the recent ota highlights on bengals.com? I gave up after watching the players stretch for about 10 minutes.
I enjoyed Lost
I never watched in the first 5 seasons. I decided to try the first DVD just to see what the fuss was all about. My wife and I got hooked and watched all 5 seasons in a matter of a couple weeks or so. The last season was a grind with all of the commercials every 3 minutes. The ending was just OK. In this series it was the journey not the destination.

RE:
I know right? This has to be one of my favorite shows of all time. Nothing matched the production value of this show.

i liked the ending
It went the way I thought it was going to end. It made the story feel more real.

Almost exactly our story in regards to Lost. My wife and I started watching it on DVD during the big writer strike. We went through the first 4 seasons in a few weeks then had to sit and wait for seasons 5 and 6. I loved the first couple seasons, after that it was good but not as good.
I went through phases of liking and disliking most of the characters. In the first few episodes I hated Sawyer with a passion, then later on I really liked him. The one character I really didn’t like from beginning to end was Jack. The fact that the ending basically said “This entire show was just Jack’s mini-purgatory before walking into the light after he died in a plane crash” really bugged me.
soooo slooowwww
that I actually watched this uncomfortably awkward Mr. T impression vid….but hey, at least Rod Woodson showed us some love (that’s the second time in as many weeks)

It Was Fun Watching the Bengals Beat the Steelers Again
NFL Network replayed the Bengals/Steelers game from 11/15/09. Bernard Scott’s kick-off return for a TD, Frostee Rucker’s interception off a deflected pass, Gentle Ben sacked four times – yeah I know the Bengals won 18-12, but it was still great seeing the Steeler fans crying into their yellow rags. What we will not see this season is Shayne Graham bonk the upright again (Graham does deserve credit for hitting four FG’s). Coles actually played a good game that day. Too bad he only had a few good games. On the Steelers side, Santonio Holmes also played well, but he too is gone. “Fast Willie” Parker is gone. So looking forward to the MNF game against them. This is the Bengals’ year!

Slow topic-QB Insurance
I am very confident in Carson Palmer and I think he is still the answer for years to come. With that said, I do not want to see a repeat of 2008. I am not confident in our back ups at that position.
What do you all think about getting Brady Quinn from the Broncos in a trade? I believe he would do way better around a solid offense and would be leagues ahead of our current back ups.
I wouldn't mind Quinn at all.
Like you said, he’d be leagues ahead of our current back-ups. I still think Quinn might actually be good, as in serviceable starter-type good. I’m not saying that he will be, but lack of success at Cleveland means nothing…he’s still a somewhat unknown commodity in my mind.
Why Quinn?
I don’t understand why so many people think he’s an NFL caliber quarterback. The guy has sucked his way through, what, 4 seasons now? Failing to win a starting job in Cleveland, of all places? You know how bad you have to be to not be able to beat out guys like Derek Anderson and Charlie Frye?
let's get Orton!
not a big BQ fan, but I am high on Purdue players
