My Yearly Fantasy Football Dilemma...
So this is what happens...
I Draft too many Bengals, I never take them out, and I refuse to draft any Ravens, Steelers, or Braylon Edwards.
Most of my cohorts do their best to keep their hometown fanaticism out of their draft-board, but I can't. I would reap no joy from a good day out of Flacco, or even a match-winning half-point from Hines Ward. I started Chad, Carson, and our D all year no matter who we played, and lost in the Superbowl of our 10 team league. In three years I've come in 2nd, 3rd, and 2nd, respectively, using these highly debatable guidelines. Fortunately for my cause, the Superbowl winner for the last 2 years in a row also gos by this mantra.
A fantasy win is pretty golden when you've got 21 points from the Bengals D and they have 6 from Big Ben.
By the way I have the hippest FF team name ever, The Electric Mayhem

I draft division opponents but don’t play them against the Bengals. I don’t take Rothelsberger because I think he is overrated. I don’t take Ward because someone else in variably values him more.
I use the Bengals for sleepers. I took Benson in the 4th or 5th round last year, because I knew he would be a 1,000 yard back. I also took Coffman in the last round and dropped him shortly there after. I have had Cincy’s D for 2 years it served me well.
I also take a NFC player over an AFC player if the are rated close, because I never play a Bengal opponent. I refuse to cheer for them. (my buy-in is very low)
I too take Bengals as sleepers, used to make a killiing off of Housh until people caught on, I knew Chad would draw the double teams, hopefully could do the same with Antonio this year, but, yes, I too could never take any Steelers or Ravens, and who would I take from Cleveland anyway?
gotta go unbiased.
i don’t even pay attention to the teams they are on when i pick them (other than byes), and I don’t worry if they are Bengals or not.
And the results have been worth it….i’ve won 5 titles in 11 seasons, with either overall high score or a playoff appearance in 5 of those remaining 6 seasons when i didn’t win the championship.
Use your Bengals fandom wisely...
by that I mean, use it to get steals.
I was able to snag Ced Benson in the 7th round last year and the Bengals D in the 12th. Both of which had strong finishes to the ’08 season and were still undervalued.
I would look to grab Palmer a little earlier than most would this year because I think he will air it out more than he did last year with his new toys at WR and TE. Bryant might be worth a late grab too if he hangs around a while
Hi fans it Brandon Roy.
And ME.....LaMarcus Aldridge
even if he doesn't air it out more
I expect better redzone production and better efficiency.
I got Ced in the late rounds last year too, and he's a big reason why I came in 2nd.
I wanted to get the Bangals D, but somebody took them in the 4th round last year, and they weren’t even a Bengals fan!!
No amount of prosperity is sufficient to eliminate all misfortune, and sloth is impervious to opportunity.
Unbiased...
As shitty as it sounds it’s the best way to win in FF. I played in two leagues last year and finished 1st and 2nd. I generally pick outside our division so I have no quarrels with my fandom.
Plus when there is money on the line I’m out for blood.
