RFA Deadline Looms..Will Bengals Actively Pursue Them?
via i.cdn.turner.com
We all know know we need a Free Safety, but how likely will this happen? I would love to see Atogwe in stripes and this could complete our defense, but do you guys think this move is likely? Atogwe has a ton of suitors awaiting him every team from the Cowboys, Browns, Bucs, Jags, Fins and 49ers have been rumored to have interest in O.J. Do you guys see the Bengals going after Atogwe? Also along with the 37 RFA's whom have not signed their tenders includes Le'Ron McClain as well, there are some quality players still left I am praying that we atleast go after one.. Any Thoughts?

Doubt the will go after OJ
He will be to high priced for M.B to go after. I would prefer fot the Bengals to make a move to get Bethea personally but he will probably be to expensive.
There will be a bidding war for the services of FS Atogwe......
Bidding war and Mike Brown will never be in the same setence. I am actually suprised about the way Cincy has filled holes in their team this offseason. I think that Marvin And coach Z will move 3rd pick B.Ghee to FS….he did not have a pick in his last season at Wake Forest but he is fast and physical….two traits that you can not coach. Mike Brown could shock the world and make a pitch at Atogwe or even Albert Haynesworth……wait….who am i kidding!
Kenneth Lewis Moore
he would correct the last big need on D
but the 41-3 vote betting that we won’t go after him is probably right. Sigh…
McClain is the only guy I would consider
We need a good FB and it would really piss off the Ravens. That alone would be worth it. LOL
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
I say the Bengals are more likely....
To fill any additional holes during Training Camp cuts. I doubt they will get in a bidding war for OJ. I think we are pretty set ‘overall’ but they will continue to monitor the players who are cut during TC. If they see a player that can help the team they will try to bring them in then.
this is what would happen..
I think our offseason activity is probably over and done with at this point. Besides J Lippencott wearing his tiny khaki shorts giving out pink slips.. Since we are on the topic, is Lippencott still being investigated by local law enforcement for smuggling mashed potatoes in the front of his shorts?

LOL
I agree for the most part. Like I said the only thing I see them actively pursuing is possibly if a player they like is cut during Training Camp. Other than that we seem pretty set, IMO.
Please keep in mind that only those who got the “right of first refusal only” tender are really affected by the deadline of June 1st. And June 15th is a date that the teams can start playing hardball by reducing tenders (in some cases at least).
So the odds of us pursuing anybody on that list are pretty minute. Only a very few of them are in that “cheap tender” category.
