Father-Son Trivia

Typically we do trivia during open threads during games, or other events. Today, we're going with something different. It's a hard one. Really hard. And it's a two-parter.

In franchise history, six players that played for the Cincinnati Bengals also had fathers that played in the NFL. Name those players.

In franchise history, four players that played for the Cincinnati Bengals had sons play in the NFL also. Name those players.

(Note: We're not including Dave Shula in the discussion for obvious reasons.. such as he not being an NFL player).

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors.

Speaking of Dave Shula...

I saw the “Man v. Food” Episode from Shula’s Steak House last weekend. Dave Shula is the general manager of the restaurant chain. Surprisingly, the restaurant is still in business. But Dave Shula is still a no-talent ass clown.

i was gonna say Geathers but i don’t think his dad played a down after being drafted?

RE:

I guess you could say that, but technically, Chase hasn’t played a down in the NFL. We’ll add him for the sake of argument, but he wasn’t listed as one per the NFL.

I also meant to say he was on the roster being paid so

technically he’s a player on a NFL team. “Paid” is the key word here. He’s listed in the NFL as a player on the Bengals roster, right?
That’s my thought on it.

RE:

They don’t apply contracts, just guys that actually played a down in the NFL.

well, he's on the team roster as a player and it'll go down in the record books as...

That is why I said paid. B/c if they aren’t paying you to be there then your not playing. but thanks for putting him in there anyways..

nope

went to Moeller with him, he was the first ever Junior captian, then 2 time captain at Tennessee. Did not get drafted, then the bengals tried to sign him, but he was very intelectual and decided he’d rather pursue other professional endevours. IMO the bengals shit on him by not drafting him

A Few More

Simeon Castille (Sp?)…his Dad (Jeramiah I think?) stripped Ernest Byner in “The Fumble” game.

Stanley Wilson and his son Quincy are likely the only players to both ever play for the Bengals (though I don’t know if Quincy ever saw action here or not).

by JohnCockToastin on Jun 16, 2010 9:23 AM EDT reply actions

Check That

Quincy Wilson’s Dad was a linebacker I think for the ’85 Bears…

Stanley Wilson’s boy is also Stanley…but he plays (played) DB if I’m not mistaken.

So technically…I just added another to the list.

This is a tough one. Off the top of my head here are acfew obscure ones

Ross Browner’s son is Max Starks in Pittsburg

Danny Farmer’s dad was Bears WR George Farmer

Bengals RB Ted Washington’s son is Rashaad Salam

Coolest name here is Wonder Monds ( I forget who he played for) the father of Mario Monds

Those are all I can think of. I did a paper on careers influenced by fathers for a sociology class. (60 year old guy and I still take college classes mostly for fun and to stay young by being around young people. Kinda silly huh? )

Also one that I just remenbered

Monte Clark who played for the Niners was the father of Brian Clark a former Bengal QB.

I didn’t really remember it. I just remembered my notes from the paper I wrote and had on file.
