Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Sets Assist High In Easy Win Over Sacramento

Our Two-Minute Drill Will Be Awesome

Regardless of who makes the number five and six receivers, I think that the top four receivers of Ochocinco, Bryant, Shipley, and Caldwell — combined with the receiving skills of TE Jermaine Gresham and Carson Palmer’s precision — would make a 2:00-minute drill a thing of beauty. All throughout last year, Palmer was his best when it mattered the most (except the second Jets game, but by then nobody was getting open consistently and I think he was just throwing out of frustration. Of course, I don’t want to skirt any blame on Palmer; he wasn’t very good that last game, but he didn’t have many weapons either).

If you have Chad Ochocinco and Antonio Bryant on the outside routes, and then you add the Jordan Shipley, Andre Caldwell, and Gresham with the inside routes, Carson is going to have a ton of options to throw to. Defensive coordinators are going to have a bitch of a time trying to cover all of this quick, speedy, shifty receivers. If they want to double team Chad all the time, someone is going to have single or no coverage and Carson will be able to pick them apart.

It should be a thing of beauty.

Well, that’s only if the offensive line can pass protect better than it did last year. Hopefully Andre Smith can get his fat ass healed and on the field for training camp.

Well, as of today, only 81 days left until the Bengals play the Patriots. I wish I didn’t look that up.

And then what...

Let’s say Chad gets hurt in the 2nd preseason game. Who are your receivers? Bryant obviously is #1. Then who?

IF Chad or Antonio gets hurt then you would see

Caldwell as the #2.

Simpson gets the nod from me as #6 and although it pains me, Cosby get let go because of Dez Bryant. He’s a diamond in the rough and it’s hard to gamble that he would remain on the practice squad.

yes. It was early for me with no coffee in me. Thanks Jaegner!

But I stand behind my statement that the player we have named “Dez” is our next WR project and we would be remiss to lose him to free agency.

Yes, I agree with this a lot!

I watched some of his highlights from Kansas and was stoked. I think this kid might see the field this year if he does well in camp and in pre-season. No way we can risk letting him go to the practice squad.

With reggie kelly back, alone

Our Pass-pro will get a boost, not to mention the progress of Smith, Cook, and Eate Mathings, the two-headed, 700 lb, LG
