Rey Maualuga Has Ankle Surgery, Should Be Ready for Camp

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga spilled the beans tonight about recent ankle surgery that has him sidelined for two to four weeks. Per Hobson, Rey "wanted to get something done so it wouldn’t interfere with camp."

I'm glad to hear that this (hopefully) won't interfere when it counts, but still: is it too much to ask for the injuries and surgeries to stop already? An inability to stay healthy has haunted this team since 2005, slowing Carson Palmer, murdering the o-line and hampering the defense. I never believed in curses before, but maybe fans should sacrifice some chickens or something.

Oh yeah?

He was “get caught upon by”? Care to decipher your meaningless Steeler fan drivel? Actually, don’t even bother.

Seriously?

Do Steeler fans just roam around the internet trying to find out how annoying they can by showing what enormous egos they have?

sacrifice chickens

or look into a new strength/conditioning coach and regimen. It seems like since 2005 the Bengals have led the NFL in injuries at least a couple times, and I haven’t heard of any changes taking place that would lead me to believe they’re proactively attempting to correct this. I could be wrong, I don’t pay as close attention as some, but I don’t think they’ve changed anything, and i would like to see them addressing this issue more aggressively.

No way we should waste good chickens that...

Andre Smith could be eating. What are you thinking???

Ankle surgery

I am wondering why the ankle surgery took place so late and only before the camp starts. This kind of small operation, especially when you know you have to get it done, should be dealt with right away after the end of the season to get more time for healing and exercises to strengthen them. I would laid the blame on the Bengals medical staff for the delay.

Chickens?

That is for taking the hex off the first baseman’s glove.

Removing the injury hex requires the charcoaling of an old Ki-Jana Carter Jersey.
