Random Question: Have you ever met a Bengals player in person?
I met Rey Maualuga, Shayne Graham (obviously not still a Bengal but he was at the time) and Kevin Huber at a charity event I worked at back in December that was at Paul Brown. David Fulcher and Doug Pelfrey were also there. They were all pretty cool. Maualuga was a funny guy. He spent a while trying to convince my mom that he had been traded to the Rams and it was about to be let out to the media. He actually had her convinced for a little while. Oh, and I've also seen David Fulcher out at the Cardboard Heroes in Kenwood a few times. He's a really cool guy. I've also gone and gotten a signature from Carson Palmer but that wasn't really "meeting" him. We just walked up, got his signature, took a picture with him and left. Also, there were a bunch of the cheerleaders at the charity event. They look great on TV but in person, most of them aren't that great.
Tell us your stories of meeting Bengals, ex-Bengals, coaches, etc.

i have had several run-ins with players. I’m such a huge fan and for some stupid reason i get starstruck and never knock down the opportunity to say something cool. But they’ve all been very nice.
When i was a kid, I met Boomer, Sam Wyche, Ickey Woods, David Fulcher and many of the super bowl team.
Brandon Bennett lived in a hotel i worked at. He was really cool, and signed a lot of autographs for me.
Corey Dillon came to another hotel i was working at because he was having his ferrari towed up to him. It was starting to rain, and the ragtop was down. So they pulled off and parked that sweet ride under our parka to keep it dry. He had to roll down with his keys to put the top up. He showed up with Bennett in a tricked out escalade…soooo sick, who recognized me, which was pretty awesome.
In the past few years, I’ve met Rudi Johnson at a walgreens, Madieu Williams at a bank, Eric Steinbach at the grocery store, Cedric Benson at a Target, Ochocinco at the mall, Kevin Huber at a restaurant, and once had Justin Smith, John Thornton and Robert Geathers at a restaurant i worked at but we weren’t allowed to talk to them.
Always exciting to see/meet your heroes.
Can’t wait to see what the other CJ homeys have to say.
3 yards and a pile of dust
waited on Colinsworth, too, he was awesome.
sorry, forgot about that one.
thanks for this fanpost, great idea, like i said, can’t wait to see what the other regulars have to say

I also forgot that I met Ochocinco at a restaurant and Jon Kitna at a store.

I keep remembering more as I think more about it...
Brad St. Louis came to my school one time back in, I dunno, probably ‘03. I didn’t talk to him 1-on-1 or anything but he talked to our school. Of course, I was probably 6. maybe 7 at the time so I didn’t know all the details of the team; I had no clue who Brad St. Louis was at the time.

Henry was the highlight
I met him twice and he was very approachable but vocally shy. Played pool next to him at Bar Louie (didn’t notice it was him until I looked down at a dinner-plate sized hand with the NFL logo tatted on it) and I met him again with Andre Caldwell at some random Bengals promo thing in the alleys between 6th, 7th, Walnut, and Vine. The first was right before his second arrest and the 2nd was right after his resigning. I also valeted Robert Geathers’ super bad Mercedes.

I take it you’re not a baseball person? BP is a pretty big star, lol.

Not a baseball fan
I like to play, but not watch. Too many games, no cap, it pisses me off

I met John Thorton at Home Depot while I was working there as a loader. He sat there and watched me load 15 80lb bags of concrete for him w/o offering to help which was nice for his big ass….
I’ve met The Ocho a few times at J. Alexanders in Norwood. Met Kenny Watson at a walgreens lol (hes SHORT). Met Palmer at Home Depot (was cool in person).
Sold shayne graham a camera while working at Circuit City (much taller and bulkier than he looks on tv next to those linemen hehe)
J. Alexanders is also where I saw Ocho.
He loves that place.
And yeah, Graham is a pretty big dude. He looks like a midget on TV but he’s actually a little bigger than the average person.

I went to High School at Alma Bryant with Antwan Odom
I also have played several times against the softball team from his old neighborhood that he sponsors, aptly named “The Bengals.”
My three favorite things in the world in no particular order: My wife, sex with my wife, and The Cincinnati Bengals
Tim Krumrie
I won a Thriftway contest, when I was about 10 years old, to meet a star Bengal. He was supposed to show up in a Limo and take my immediate family out to dinner. Well that didn’t happen, apparently his PR director just gave him an address and said, you have to be here at X time on X date. So no limo ride but I got to hang out with Tim Krumrie for an afternoon. I have also met Dan Santucci, just recently waived, very down to earth nice guy, and I also met Shank Graham, what a dick, I manage a auto repair shop, his tire was a little low on his 26" wheels on his escalade, it was a pain in the ass to fill up and he didn’t even thank or tip me. Good riddance.
Clem Turner
Does Clem Turner count? I played basketball with him at the old Friars Club in Clifton many moons ago. I’m 6’5" and was about 220 then, and got flipped around like a rag doll. Computer programmers shouldn’t try to play basketball with professional football players, especially without refs. “No harm — no foul.” Let’s define “harm.”
My father actually knows Bob Johnson, I have watched a couple Super Bowls with him at my parents place. Thats the only one I would say I have gotten to know at all. It’s amazing to look at him now since he is under 200 pounds and think about him being a lineman with the behemoths there are now in the NFL.
I have gotten pictures/ autographs with Whitworth, Stacy Andrews, Boomer Esiason, and Anthony Munoz.
