Terrell Owens Update: It's Only A Matter of Time
Why yes Josh, I am a betting man and I am putting my chips on TO being in stripes on Thursday. According to Joe Reedy, an offer from the Bengals is officially on the table and a decision is expected to be announced within 48 hours..... you better tell Jake Gyllenhall because that's the day after tomorrow.
The Bengals have extended an offer to Owens, which is now the only one on the table after the Rams decided to back out. Owens and agent Drew Rosenhaus like the Bengals situation and both sides are still negotiating. The team is hoping that a decision is made in the next 48 hours.
It seems to me that the Bengals could have just saved a lot of time and effort by ending this dance months ago when they had the chance to sign Owens then. However, the Bengals may get a better deal on Owens now that it seams that if the Bengals don't sign him, he just won't play unless he has to fill in for an injured receiver somewhere.
Does this mean that Antonio Bryant is already on the outs? It's hard to say but I find it hard to believe that the Bengals would be giving up on him so early. Maybe they like the idea of having an Ocho-Antonio-TO-trio on the field. If that doesn't make a defense defecate in their pants, I don't know what will.
Stay tuned for updates.
UPDATE (I said to stay tuned!!!): Joe Reedy tweets: There's a reason why the Rams pulled out of the TO bidding -- the asking price hasn't cone down. Now it will be seen if the price comes down for the opportunity to play for a contender and his best friend.

A matter of time it is..
I’m anxiously updating my twitter every couple minutes for the breaking news..
TO rating?
Anyone know what TO’s Madden 2011 rating is? Just curious how they compared him to the rest of the squad.
I love the idea of signing Owens to go with Chad and Antonio Bryant............can we please stop with ? about Antonio Bryant
You can best believe that Mike Browns had Cincinatti team doctors do a very good exam on Bryants torn MCL. Bringing in Owens is just insurance in case something happens to any of the Bengals WR. Last year when we lost Slim(r.i.p.) the splash plays were very few if any. The Bengals had to grind away at teams winning by running the ball and defense.
Carson Palmer has alot of clout with this organzation and now he has weapons everywhere. Chad was triple teamed alot last year and bringing in Owens, Bryant and Gresham will free Chad up to have a monster season. Hopefully Ced won’t miss any time due to his incident in Texas and this team can put a season together to shup up all thease critics who have something negative to say all the freakin’ time.
Go BENGALS…………….Let’s Get IT!
Kenneth Lewis Moore
Bryant will be fine
i believe in him so much i bet he has a career year. He just needs to give his knee some rest
Actually, I don't think he cares about football.
Just money. I thought Walt was wrong about AB not giving a s*** after signing a new contract, but it looks like he’s unenthusiastic about rehabbing the knee. You’re right that they checked him out, but they also figured the knee would be better by now if he cared at all. We’ll get a lot out of him at the end of his contract.

the only problem....
Which Bengals WR do you draft in fantasy w so many options? Joking, bring the TO show to da Nati! Superbowl bound baby (with or without TO) No team in AFCN has a secondary that can hang.

With all this talk of signing T.O.
I hope the FO is working more diligently on signing the rest of the draft picks. I think it is much more important to get Gresham, Dunlap, Atkins, and Shipley into camp on time than T.O.
I mean, T.O. has been working with Carson (apparently) and he has the veteran experience so I don’t think that will be nearly as much of an issue of chemistry as the rookies.
Atkins has already signed...
That leaves Gresham, Dunlap, Shipley, and Muckelroy. Mulckelroy tweeted yesterday that it looked like he would be signing today, and Growlzone.com reported Muckelroy has agreed to terms with Bengals.
So that leaves our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks… lets go FO… lets have a signing marathon these next 2 days!

My initial reaction is “hell no”, but after letting it percolate for a day or two I’m just backing out of this one. Maybe Owens will come in with something to prove and give the Bengals one good year. Maybe he’ll rub off on Chad and ruin him. I’m worried, but I don’t think it’s the end of the world if he signs.
getcha popcorn ready Nasty Nati
T.O….. Ocho… Bryant… Gresham….. Leapin Leonard….. no huddle style…. SICK
let’s get it Bengals
3 yards and a pile of dust
PUP for Bryant?
Guessing they put ANtonio on PUP and let him fully heal. That way they don’t have to cut someone now and can make the hard decision after week 6 if there are no injuries.
That, and I didn't know what to think about TO.
Now I have mulled it over, and the conclusion I have come to is, BRING IT.
haha. Me too. I actually had to look up who Jake Gyllenhaal is, but I voted that I hated him anyways.
This is our year!

I understand the appeal of the PUP option for Bryant
assuming his knee needs more time. The question it raises for me is who is going to be the deep threat that gives everybody else more room? Once Chris Henry was out of the lineup last year, Ocho got double-teamed constantly, and Caldwell had the other safety in his face right off the snap. The devil’s advocate would point out that Owens isn’t a big downfield threat the way he might have been years back, and his issues with drops are eerily similar to what happened to Coles last year.
If we do get TO because Bryant isn’t ready to go, then fine by me, so long as we’ve got someone in the lineup who backs the safeties the hell off. That hasn’t been Caldwell’s game so far, and I haven’t heard that Shipley has that kind of speed either. Simpson? Briscoe? Anybody?
No mention of Jones is Hobson's article
….An Owens signing could ice the careers of young wideouts like Jerome Simpson and Dez Briscoe. And it would make it hard for second-year punt returner Quan Cosby to make it….
T.O. attracts three biggest Bengals

Cowboys fan here
And having experienced TO a couple years ago, here’s my opinion
Reasons For: TO and 85 across from one another will give everyone else fits
TO doesn’t usually make trouble until at least his second year with a team (which is why I laugh every time all the reporters make a big deal about his good behavior with Buffalo. Duh, he was well behaved, he ALWAYS is, year one) so if you pop him into a 1 year contract, you should be fine
Reasons against: …Not many, other than the fact that it would put OchoCinco and TO on the same team… shudder The refs are going to have to bring extra flags just for the touchdown celebrations.
Good luck, and we’ll see you in the Super Bowl ;)
God Bless Texas
TO A Champion
I think signing TO is a no-brainer. He is NOT the troublemaker he’s been made out to be. His only real problem is with QBs who are slackers. CP is no slacker. TO will be in Heaven (and so will Bengal fans).
