Terrell Owens: Wants A Fair Deal, Maybe Cutting Last Year's Salary In Half

TMZ caught up with Terrell Owens. When asked if the decision to sign with a team were financial or for a championship, Owens said, "It all goes hand in hand. I already told the people everything is negotiable. I just want a fair deal, a fair shot. Like I said, I know what I made last year. You know, maybe cut that in half and see what we can work with. I'm flexible."

According to PFT, Owens made $6.5 million with the Buffalo Bills last year. Cutting that in half would be $3.25 million. But having watched the interview, I seriously doubt that this mirrors the position that Drew Rosenhaus is taking.

We've obvoiusly not offered the asking price...

Or he’d already signed the deal.. Maybe the incentives reach that amount just not the base salary..

boohoo

if he doesn’t want to sign here for 1-2 million let him take his other offers, wait, he doesn’t have one. the jets aren’t going to sign him, thats crap that rosenhaus started to try to spike a contract with the bengals for a higher dollar amount.

sign or go to the CFL. you aren’t getting 3.25 million in cincy.

"Holy bill of rights, Batman!"

Wonders when Robin is going to offer to pay some of Batman’s salary? But if they are close, I rather the Bengals just pay Batman a higher base salary instead of an insentive laiden on, which would require batman screaming for the darn ball more than Robin in order to get paid.

I also...

dont think Mike Brown is gonna give him 3 mill.I think its more like 2 mill and incentives to make it close to 3 mill,in any event, that should get him in here,if it doesnt,I dont see any team thats gonna say “Hey we got a injured WR,heres 3 mill come help”,the NFL owners dont work like that for a 36 yr old WR on the decline.

btw...

Rams didnt even bother to make a offer, thats what the meeting was about Monday, they wasnt even thinking money,it was more of the situation that they knew they wasnt gonna contend this year, and to get T O in here and him going off on a rookie QB was just to much to chance,Joe Reedy said in a report that it was about $$$,as usual Joe spends to much time drinking,I mean ask Joe Reedy, hes not even a Bengals fan whatsoever, ask him,he’ll tell you flat out,but in this case,he had no bases or investagation on the Rams,no offer was ever made to the T O camp.
