Carson Palmer Talks 19-0
So. A couple weeks back I had the (alleged) audacity to say that I smelled dynasty. By the comments, you can see that many begged to disagree. "An instant classic," one scoffer noted. I was simply "excited," another believed.
Well, boys and girls, I have another instant classic for you tonight, and if it doesn't get every true Bengals fan excited, then I don't know what will. We're all used to crazy predictions and trash talk by that guy in the No. 85 jersey. But the guy throwing to him, well, No. 9 is usually a bit more reserved.
For example, queried today by ESPN's Adam Schefter about the Bengals' chances in this post-Terrell-Owens era, Palmer would only say this:
"I don't know why we can't win the Super Bowl," Palmer said with conviction. "There's absolutely no reason we can't win every game on our schedule."
Hardly a declaration of...what the $^&*???? Can I get that one more time?
"I don't know why we can't win the Super Bowl," Palmer said with conviction. "There's absolutely no reason we can't win every game on our schedule."
That was Palmer? Holy %$#@!!! Win how many?
every game on our schedule
Win what?
the Super Bowl
And all you people thought I was nuts. Well, maybe I am, but if so I'm nuts like Carson Palmer. And that's good company in my book.

The Bengals have the team in place to match well against every team in the NFL
Key factors will now be
Team Unity – Its very strong. I think it stays high for the year.
Carson Palmer – can he do it, of course he can. WILL he do it, I don’t know.
Bryant’s health – I sure hope his knee is strong enough to contribute each game. Thankfully he’s not our #1 WR this year. But if he can be involved in 3 WR sets and keep the D busy, he will factor in TDs even if he doesn’t catch them.
Andre Smiths health – @$%&ing @$&er @&%^&##$$%%. I’m better now. This guy needs to get his ass kicked. The entire team should sit his sorry ass down and tell him to suck it up, and be ready to roll in September. the O line needs beef.
Ohhh LIne – Dudes need to step up and keep the crazies off of Carson so he can nail his targets. They also better be really working on reducing the penalties this year.
Injury Bug – We can’t afford to lose our First Team players. Sure we have depth, but if we lose too many guys it’s not gonna be pretty.
Coaching – Bad Series. Stupid Time Outs. Horrible 3 down playcalling. Last year there were some of these that really messed things up. Cannot afford it.
2010 - The Year of the Tiger.
The biggest problem is Bratkowski.
He’s a really bad playcaller.
"Before I write I let my mind go blind and let the Lord do His thing. " -Tupac Shakur
"Opportunity is missed by most people because it looks like work." -Thomas Edison
Why? Why? Why?
Did you have to spoil a good thought? You brought Brat into the equation..
Reality is a bitch…
Good points....
WAY too many penalties from the O-line last year. Even to many from Palmer (Delay of Games). I don’t know if I put that entirely on Palmer since he may be waiting for the play to come in. It seems throughout his career he has more ‘Delay of Game’ penalties then I thin he should have.
Andre Smith- You covered that pretty well! I won’t even get started.
Good points....
One that is a major concern to me: O-Line penalties. They single-handedly killed drives last year. If the O is going to take the next step this has to be addressed. I will even throw Palmer into that mix (Delay of Game). Though I’m not sure it is actually Palmers fault or if he is waiting on the play to be called in (Bratkowski?)
I said it in the last post and I’ll say it again. If the Bengals do become a dynasty, BeerRun get’s ultimate props for calling it, and a really cool nickname to be determined at a later date (something like the Swami, or the Great Houdini).
This is our year!
It starts in week 1 with coaching
The Bengals have all the potential in the world, but there is concern with Bratkowski and some of Lewis’ challenges. I can’t wait to see how the Bengals match up in the first game vs. the Patriots. If they are ever going to get out coached it’s then. I’m an enormous fan, but the realist in me says it’s going to be tough in New England. Who-Dey Nation would be feared if we came out week 1 and made a big statement against the Pats. Who Dey 2010 and let the potential dynasty roll
I watched the interview. Carson’s comments are being taken out of context. He never said that they were going to go undefeated. He simply meant that they will always have a chance to win. I love the confidence that this team is showing… Winners EXPECT to win… That is an attitude that this team has lacked for a long time.
I digress, I think it is funny that four months ago everyone on Bengals.com was bashing T.O., and now he’s on the team, he is the greatest thing ever. I was never high on signing Bryant, and recieved a lot of flak for my opinion. Now that he is here I hope that he is productive and earns his money. At this point I don’t care what it takes, or who it takes to win a championship. Let’s just win a championship.
(I still don’t like Bratkowski!)
I'm optimistic but
take it easy. He didn’t say the team would go undefeated, he said, essentially, the teams’ got potential. Stop putting words in his mouth. Let the poopheads at Profootballtalk and the mothership take care of shotgun coverage and ambulance chasing. Between this and the “Lewis not onboard with T.O. signing” coverage I’m starting to feel you guys are getting trigger happy for news. Don’t loose your heads.
palmer
so will he do this as the 2008-2009 shell of himself or the 2005-2007 version?

Last year when Chad said this team would go 11-5 or 10-6 and make the playoffs people said that Chad was out of his mind as usual BUT
not only did this team win 10 games but they were two plays away from going 12-4 if you count the freak play by the Broncos and the fumble by Andre Caldwell on the kickoff against the Raiders.
I don’t know if this team could run the table but they have talent and they finally expect to win. Confidence will carry you a long way in this game. Carson Palmer is the key along with the offensive line and their pass blocking. Andre Smith needs to get with the freakin’ program because he can be one of the best if he decides to get his big ass in game shape.
