Brian Leonard Relieved: Cordera Eason Clears Waivers, Heads to IR
As relief flooded yesterday with news that Bengals running back Brian Leonard is unlikely to miss the entire season, rather a few weeks into the regular season at the most, no one felt more relieved than the man himself.
“I’ll be back this season. It will be a little bit of time,” Leonard said. “I’ll be back pretty much when I feel good and ready to go. They don’t have a time frame set. Its how you feel and that’s what I’m going to base it off of.
“I don’t want to put a time frame on it because I really don’t know. It’s how my body reacts to it and when I get into rehab. If I feel good and in shape and I don’t have any pain cutting off it then I’ll be back out as soon as I can.”
“I know they are career threatening and that’s what I thought I had at the beginning,” Leonard said. “Then I had the MRIs and all of a sudden maybe it was some fractures. Then they came back good. Now I’ll be back when I feel good.”
The injury remains a mild mid-foot sprain.
Also, in the file of injured running backs, Cordera Eason, who also suffered a foot injury against the Cowboys, cleared waivers and now heads to the team's Injured Reserve list.
