"Most teams that play Cover 2 are trying to protect their corners. We’re trying to do the opposite," defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer said. "We’re trying to leave them out there by themselves as much as possible. It all starts with those two good corners. I usually tell them after games that if you don’t play good we don’t play good."

I said it last week and I'll say it again.
Last year in the first quarter of the season Hall shut down three elite receivers to the point that their stat lines were nearly completely empty. Brandon Marshall, Santonio Holmes and one other top-flight receiver recorded darn near blanks on their stat lines, and Hall was on all of them.

One could make the argument that Hall is the best CB on this team.
If Hall on an island scares you, JJ on an island probably scares you about the same amount.

Having 2 great corners can change a whole defense.
So much more flexibility.

And having 3 quality corners gets you a lot of QB pressure on 3rd and long.
