Pregame Open Thread: Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals... no, your Cincinnati Bengals kickoff tonight at 8PM, hosting the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0). We've talked about what we hope to see improved, and we talked about how the Bengals could use Andre Smith much more tonight based on various injuries on the offensive line.

Either way, tonight's game won't be televised locally. So make sure you come here, stay here, throughout the duration, where those with access to the game will be able to keep you in the loop.

For now, discuss amongst yourself. The pregame is here. The game later. Talk about anything, ranging from Pete Rose being allowed to be honored by the Reds the 25th anniversary for his record 4,192nd hit, to why the moon is such a vital orb resting next door.

T.O. is a class act. I read his open letter to the city. Regardless of how the ball gets distributed this season, it looks like he’s not going to get in the way of the team chemistry. What’s the impression in Cincinnati almost one month later of him joining the team? I don’t live there so I miss out on the local sports talk radio…

Same, really

Lots of excitement and potential. I’m actually somewhat shocked at the level he’s embraced with. I’ve heard very few, if any, negative things about him joining Cincinnati.

I don’t have the man cave, but I do have a 60" Sony HD TV that’s pretty nice for sports. And yes, I’m 1 mile from UCLA, between Westwood and Santa Monica. I’ll post on here when it happens, so keep an eye out.

mine is Geno Adkins,seen the guy get doubled teamed @Dallas game and still got the sack, I think hes worthy of a early look and also Brandon Ghee and Dunlap and yes Im gonna say Jerome Simpson,the guy has had a raw deal here,and seems to know he may lose his job if he doesnt bust his butt …. Btw, Why not shop some of these guys for picks if they aren’t gonna make the team,no harm on checking around the league,and heres a players name I will throw out there,K Billy Conduff of the Ravens, he might be available if Shayna makes the team.

I make a Tecmo Super Bowl hack each year, and right now I’m putting together rosters. With the Bengals, I can’t quite figure out who I think will start at the safety slots between Crocker/Ndukwe/Williams/Wilson. Who’s it looking like will start at the safety spots, Bengals fans?

What’s weird is all 4 guys (Crocker, Ndukwe, Roy and Wilson) are all the same build and same player basically, even though they play two different positions. It’d be nice to have a ball-hawking type back there, but I think Zimmer likes to rely on his CB’s for coverage and use the safeties as run-supporters.

crocker’s a big hitter, but he’s also good in coverage, unlike the rest of them; he did play some nickel for us a couple years ago.

I bet Zimmer got after em after last weeks first 2 drives. I bet TO gets about 4 or 5 catches. I want to see alot of Andre Smith get his ass to work!!! I want to see more Shipley in the first team slot. Want to see more of Gresham who looks great. And I expect that Michael Johnson goes all beast on somebody and Geno Atkins makes his case even better for more playing time. Rey Maualuga should pop Vick. FOOTBALL!!!

Man I don't get off work until 10 o'clock

I live outside the blackout so I have it recording on my DVR.. I’m wondering if I should hang out here and find out what’s going on or stay away so everything comes to me by surprise.. All I can say is I’m freaking pumped I can’t wait to crack a cold one and watch our first team for the first half..
