Do we need really need a placekicker?

I have become increasingly concerned about our kicking situation.  Never in the world did I think that Dave Rayner was going to be the best option for us at kicker.  Unfortunately, Mike Nugent can't seem to get on the field and I can't help but reminisce about the "good ol' days" of Shayne Graham.  Granted he choked a few times, but at least he gave himself the chance to miss those clutch kicks by hitting all the routine ones leading up to it.  My gut is telling me neither Nuge or Rayner will be on the final 53. If not them, then who?

Who needs a place kicker? Onside kicks and two point conversions, that's how we roll.

Gonna be Nuge or Raynor

What if Shayne or Rackers loses? Shayne has too many “demons” according to Marvin to come back yet and who the hell wants Rackers here?

We might want to consider Kris Brown.

Hell, with a name like Brown, he’s a lock for sure.. All kidding aside, he’s not that bad of a kicker. Some misses but he has made some clutch kicks.

patience ....

remember how the Bengals got Graham ? Off waivers during the last round of cuts back in 2003. I’m personally rooting for Nugent. It’s unfortunate that he’s had the injury. It would be nice to see what he can do and there are still a couple of games to go, so hopefully he’ll get a chance. If there isn’t improvement from either one than my choice would be the loser of the Racker/Brown battle.

How about we save a roster spot and make Ocho the kicker?

Seriously though, I think I’d want the loser of the Rackers/Brown battle or Nuge (if he shows he has what it takes.)

And what should we do if Ocho pulls a hammy trying to kick a 49 yarder?

He might be about to kick a 35 yarder in a preseason game, but I’ll bet there’s a lineman that can kick a 35 yarder also. I would like to see us get rackers or brown. Our current guys are not good enough.

Which is why I said that I would [SERIOUSLY] want the loser of the Rackers/ Brown battle.

You can’t just read the title line and think you know what the post says.

I can't read everything everyone writes. That's unpossible.

Calm down a little. You’re at a 13 and we need you at a 7.

Nuge just needs to be healthy

He seemed to be a pretty decent kicker before getting a few injuries. Hopefully he’lll get more opportunities this week.

I'm with ya but,

He needs to stay healthy and needs to stretch more, I guess. I’m pulling for him.

"Pretty decent kicker" is an understatement.

If I’m not mistaken he was taken in the second round. He used to be an absolute beast.

Nuge

Agree with others -— if Nuge is healthy, he should be our guy this year. He was a 2nd round pick by the Jets and had some decent years for the Jets until he got injured. Last year when he started the year with Tampa Bay, in my opinion, he was let go prematurely because their inexperienced and ineffective coach needed a scapegoat to try and mask the real problems with his team.

Graham

Feel free to take Shayne Graham back. As a Ravens fan, I hope he gets the boot before the final cuts.

I want Graham in Baltimore week 17.

Hopefully kicking with the game on the line, I’ve seen how that goes.
