Bengals Starters "Probably" Play A Possession: Adam Jones Will Be Out

CINCINNATI OH - AUGUST 15: Adam Jones #24 of the Cincinnati Bengals gestures to the crowd before the preseason game against the Denver Broncos at Paul Brown Stadium on August 15 2010 in Cincinnati Ohio. The Bengals won 33-24. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

While the Bengals medical staff are rehearsing for a cameo in Scrubs, there's actually a football game this Thursday. The Bengals will head to Indianapolis to play the Colts where fans will pay money for second-rate players that will never see the field unless their starters are hurt. Don't worry Colts fans, some Bengals players will start the game, and most likely you'll see Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens. At the most, two possessions.

Unfortunately, you can't witness the mad return skills of the team's newest reclamation project, Adam Jones, who suffered a neck injury against the Bills last week and by Lewis' own admission, might be a little worn out. However, according to Geoff Hobson, "Lewis indicated Jones would be OK for the opener."

However, according to Joe Reedy, the players that will sit Thursday will resemble those that missed action last Saturday, save for Cook and Dunlap, who suffered injuries against the Bills.

OT Anthony Collins (ankle), DE Robert Geathers (foot), DE Frostee Rucker (hamstring), DT Carlos Dunlap (knee), S Chinedum Ndukwe (unspecified), C Kyle Cook (ankle), CB Adam Jones (knee/neck) and DE Jonathan Fanene (unspecified) did not practice. It would be safe to rule out everyone but Fanene from playing in the preseason finale.

Where's Brandon Ghee?

Remember. The Bengals preseason finale is this Thursday at 7PM.

Defensive Ends & More

Michael Johnson and Fanene should be the starting DEs. Andre Smith should be moved to Guard. Gino Atkins should be seeing much more playing time against opponent’s 1st teams.

I completely agree with Fanene starting.

I love his motor. He seems to find his way to the ball.
