Bill Belichick is perhaps the best coach in gameplaning in the league. He knew exactly what the bengals were going to do just as Rex Ryan knew in the Bengals playoff game of this year. The coaching staff of the Bengals are way too predictable in the sense that other coordinators know how to gameplan against us. Giving them easy freedom to try new things out on offense or defense. Bob Bratkowski needs to be fired. He's been here way too long and does not know how to call efficient plays on offense. Every time he calls a play im holding my head knowing the fact that I and the opposing team know what he is going to call. His predictable play calling is like that of Joe Gibbs playcalling returning back to the Washington Redskins. We Bengals fans know its just one game. But we get sick n tired of hearing excuses of why and why things aren't working out with our team.
One thing we need to address is the Offensive Line. I do not think the OL is that great. Its a good OL for running the football but not pass protection. This OL had a good year last year, they have more experience with each other but we still need a little help. The next thing is that we need to address are DL as well. Nobody gets pressure on the quarterback on our team. We have great players in our defense such as Maulaga, Johnson, Rivers, Joe J, Leon. Maybe we need to cause different blitz schemes in order to get pressure on the opposing QB. Like a CB blitz or more LB blitzes. Michael Johnson is a freakish athlete. I dont think they use him enough like the Cowboys use Demarcus Ware. He is like a hybrid type player to play both DE or LB. Players such as Atkins and Dunlap seem to do a better job on getting pressure to the QB. Im just going off of what I have seen during yesterdays game. But I still think we need more talent or better talent upfront on the DE positions. Geathers and Odom are not fast enough, in my opinion to cause pressure and get to the QB. Another thing we need to address is the Safety position. We have Reggie Nelson. I thought hes good enough to start. I think he should play more. Our safeties are too slow. We need safeties that can cover. Some that have speed like that of Earl Thomas that came out this year. The one position that Baltimore and Pittsburgh have so much in common is Safety. Polamalu and Reed can cover, hit and have great speed.
Full back is a need but not too major at this point. Kicker too. But the most important need in my opinion is a new OC. We need better playcalling or we need Carson to call the plays or something. I have nothing bad to say about Zim. I think Marvin needs to be a better game manager as for him being a coach. But still hes done a great job with this team. But this team needs to get over the one good year thing. The good thing about playing the pats is that in order to be elite. We have to beat the elite. Not just by talent and skill but also by coaching. Coaching is what helps down the road to the ship. Coaching is what gets you there. Coaching is what got the Saints the superbowl. Coaching is what got the Saints the ball back from an onside kick during halftime(though i dont like that call). But coaching is what gets you to where you want to be. As I am a bengal fan, I support my team but I just wonder if we go to the playoffs. Do we have enough coaching to help us win playoff games. Cause at this point. I dont think we do. Im not trying to be negative but just realistic in a sense of what i have seen being a bengal fan. If anything I hope they prove me wrong but im not saying were horrible its just can we really get to the playoffs and superbowl with Brat as our OC and Marvin as are coach.
And this is no disrespect to Marvin cause I like him as a coach but im speaking the realness off this subject. Not just because we got whipped yesterday but going off of an evaluation of the Bengals under the Marvin Lewis era.
