UPDATE: Quan Cosby Makes The Roster
Well, just as soon as I wrote that, another tweet confirmed that Cosby makes the team. Another tweet reads:
Since I have such great followers I will let y'all in on what will be confirmed Tom, I am and will b a Bengal! Gonna b a great year for us!!
This is good news, because as we've said several times before, Quan Cosby's biggest asset is his special teams play. He returns the football, he plays coverage on special teams and when called, he knows the offense to fill in at wide receiver.
This is the team's fifth wide receiver, provided Andre Caldwell makes the roster. That leaves the final spot between Jerome Simpson and Dezmon Briscoe.

That's a relief
This guy is too valuable. I’d hate to see him hurt us on another team. Good news :)
I like it when Joe Reedy makes an @$$ out of him sefl..
He has to feel like such a douche bag right now..
Can't let that go, eh James? :)

Curnutte was an asshole
..when I was working at the Enquirer.
and I liked Joe Reedy taking over that spot. But his tweets do bother me sometime. Guy needs to chill out. Sounds bitter all the time, like Curnutte did..

I think Simpson is finally going to get the shaft..
Unfortunately he’s had a lot of time to prove he’s worthy and one good pre-season game is probably not going to be enough for him to make the squad over Briscoe whom will be given the same chance now that Simpson has had for a couple of years..
That would suck :/
I hate getting excited about YouTube videos and grainy Sportscenter top play highlights for nothing ;)

I hope
Briscoe deserves the spot over Simpson. And, good for Cosby—he’s seriously like a real-life Rudy Ruetteger story.

Simpson doesn't deserve a chance.....
I like how Jerome Simpson has performed this preseason but I think he has used up all of his chances to make it on this team. I think it’s time for the Bengals and Simpson to part ways. I think Simpson will make a good player…..it’s just not for the Cincinnati Bengals.
So let’s not drop Caldwell. Let’s keep him and Briscoe and drop Simpson.

Two Words
Boo and Ya. Boo-ya. I love the commitment this team has to special teams. The success of Adam Jones, Shipley and Cosby thus far in returns this year is just a reflection of that. Go Cosby!
This is our year!
That's right....
The Bengals have showed that they care about their special teams. But them keeping Cosby also shows that they are committed to helping the receiving corp. Quan Cosby definitely helped out the receiveing corp last year and think he will continue to do that this year.

Wonder if this
constitutes a violation of the team ‘no tweeting’ policy.
I doubt it.. It's nowhere near gametime..
The rule is that players can’t tweet 90 minutes before or after a game and the conduct of the tweets can’t be offensive, racial, prejudice etc.. etc.. This isn’t in any way detrimental to the team either..
Don't think they'd want players saying " I made it! "
before they have a chance to talk with the player who’s being waived in their place.

The player's call each other to inform each other whats going on..
Did you see hard knocks? They were calling each other back and forth trying to figure out who made it and who didn’t..
This is great news. I don't see how anyone could work harder to make it
I would guess that Simpson will stay, Brisco will go PS and Jones will be cut. Simpson is a great physical talent and can play Chads role, if not as well. Brisco is too green to make the 53 (rookie WRs usually don’t get picked up off the PS but it is a risk) and Matt Jone lost his big advantage when TO came in to provide height and toughness in the red zone. I am not sure is all of this will happen but it kinda makes sense to me.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
Can we cut Caldwell and keep Simpson? Caldwell has been a ghost and we have Shipley and Cosby to play slot, which is what Caldwell is useful for. Caldwell is a lower potential reward, and I’d rather go all in on hoping we get a gem with the #4 – #6 receivers/
Briscoe > Simpson.
So glad Quan made it! Im not looking forward to losing Briscoe on waivers thou..
