The 2010 Cincinnati Bengals 53-Man Roster Announced
When the Cincinnati Bengals suited up for the first time in late July during Training Camp, anything was possible, every position was available. From the long-term veterans that brought Cincinnati their first playoff berth in 2005 to unsigned college free agent rookes, everyone had a chance to win a spot, perform at the highest levels with a team that's not just expected to be competitive, but to make the playoffs and inch further than they did the year before.
Now it's early September, Training Camp is long over and the preseason came to a close. Positions were battled, rosters set. And now, the first stage of the team's 2010 roster is set. There's still waivers to decide the roster and the practice team should be announced later (as late as Sunday evening).

David Jones gone!

RT @Adam_Schefter: Bengals and Jaguars are now finalizing a CB David Jones for S Reggie Nelson trade.v
Surprised that Rucker made the team. A little surprised at Peerman.
I guess Coats and Stuka are gonna be the FBs.
Looks like Coffman got cut in favor of Rucker, I think Coffman is PS eligible and could come back if Kelly retires at the end of the year.
Weren't there reports of his blocking improving in the offseason?
Also, I fear for when Reggie retires. Our franchise blocking TE could give Daniel Coats a job until retirement.
Then why the f-ck
did they draft him in the third round?

Peerman was obvious.
I’m surprised at the three safeties. Any announcements of the practice squad? I’m hoping Miles, Briscoe, and Coffman are on it (Coffman’s still eligible right?).
I think Coffman is still eligible
because he was inactive for 12 games last year. It would be nice to keep him if there is some promise.
RE: He is
He didn’t have accrued season last year.

Coats over Coffman
Dont like it,I dont buy Coats as a hellacious blocker from either TE or FB spots,Foschi was a better player last year and I remember the Coats/Perry combo in the backfield in 08.
Reggie Nelson for David Jones…somebody please confirm this is true,Nelson was good for a while, his play has regressed with the rest of the Jags defense recently though?
WTH with releasing Chase Coffman??
I don’t understand the move. Hopefully he ends up on the practice squad. Him and Gresham in the Red zone is a match up nightmare…..
would appear he's going to practice squad
unless another team claims him

Looks like Simpson's
made a career of showing up for the preseason then sitting the rest of the year.
