Housh to Ravens
Dunno how I feel about this one.....
I guess if he truly has lost a step, then this is a non-issue and maybe he'll blow up their locker room. But if hes the TJ we knew and loved, then this could be a real problem.

What do you guys think? Washed up or another weapon? Either way its gonna suck seeing him across the field and not in orange and black....

shrug the ravens like our recycled players
not the 1st time. housh will probably have a chance at success there since he won’t be asked to be a #1. and he’ll have a chip on his shoulder about cincy not paying him 8.5 million last season to stay and not begging him to come back in 2010.
he made his own bed, he’s a ratbird now. ravens got him for a vet min 1 year contract. seattle is paying the rest of the tab for him to play in balt in 2010.
wish brown had made the offer to housh, he didn’t, so we’ll see him on gameday now.

say what you will but
he does make the ratbirds better. He’s clutch on 3rd down.

he still needs time to learn the playbook and system
and figure out how to keep his mouth shut while doing it. what are the odds of that occurring?
"wherever Brad St. Louis is and Shayne Graham is about to be." -R.F. Mehl
Pretty good. He knows if he mouths off, he will be gone. It’s a one year contract, virtually no risk what-so-ever.

wisdom
the ability to learn from one’s mistakes.
Hindsight: wishing we had the wisdom to avoid the mistakes.

Here’s a nice example of Housh “mouthing off.”
"Ray said, ‘If you want to win, this is the place to be,’’ Houshmandzadeh told the newspaper. “The way he is on the field is how he is off the field. Passionate. Our conversation was passionate and insightful.”
"I know from competing against those guys when I was in Cincinnati how it is in Baltimore.’’
“Baltimore was about a chance to win the ring,’’ Houshmandzadeh told the newspaper. “Five or six teams have a legit shot to win a Super Bowl this year and they were one of them. Without me.”
"Although I had other options and I was seriously considering those, I just couldn’t pass this up. Winning is why we play sports.’’
It sounds like Ray got on him early. We won’t have any problems, but thanks for asking.
Look at how much life Cam Cameron squeezed out of Kelly Washington last season…
I think Housh is much better than him, especially as a third receiver.
Except that he thinks he is a number one
and may really chaffe at being a number 3.
More like he see’s his best chance to get a ring on his finger (something that wasn’t going to happen in Cincy). Not to mention his whopping price-tag, $800,000. Meanwhile Seattly picks up the other $6 million.
"Me no function beer welll without."
he wasn't asked to come back to cincy
not a call. not an offer. not a visit. not an email.
"wherever Brad St. Louis is and Shayne Graham is about to be." -R.F. Mehl
That’s because they’ve already wasted $7 million on a receiver that will never play for them.
Not to mention… TJ would have laughed in their faces had they contacted him. He wants to play for a contender.
He told Ocho that he would come back
Ocho was lobbying to bring him back. The FO didn’t want him.
Mike Brown would have jumped all over $855 k to sign him if he thought that TJ would help the team. Obviously he thought differently. You guys can have him. You’ll see soon enough that he’s a good WR that can’t keep his mouth shut. That is why Seattle let him go. He wasn’t worth the trouble to them and to us.
omg that 7 million bankrupted this franchise
mike had that money laying around in rolled pennies. money wasn’t the issue. no reason to be obtuse and make stuff up.
there was no offer nor inquiry made to TJ from cincy b/c they didn’t want him back at any cost, they have no place for him here. they have no desire for him here. that happens when you burn your bridges. sometimes you can’t go home again.

he wasn’t asked to come back to cincy
You are right, he was begged to come back to Cinc by none other than Ocho Cinco.
On Friday, when news broke that the Seahawks would be cutting receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, former Bengals teammate Chad Ochocinco took to Twitter to make his case for T.J.‘s return to Cincinnati. Chad said he’d be “lobbying heavy” foe the Bengals to bring T.J. back, and that Chad’s past successes came in large part from playing with Houshmandzadeh.
wow. really.
so you think chad works in the front office? what chad wants, has zero to do with what our front office does.
its like your post here, is that what the ravens are going to do, or does ozzie make the decisions?
marvin was very clear when asked during his weekly press conference about TJ and if he would be contacted. marvin said we don’t have room for him. wish him luck.
so unless you have the ability to appoint chad the gm in cincy or the appoint him head coach or owner of the bengals, what chad posts or don’t post on his twitter, means jack.
you really needed that explained? christ.

I find this very hard to believe after what Chad did for bringing TO in here. Would not shut up about it and begged and begged and pleaded and then begged more for the front office to bring TO in, until they finally did it. Chad has a major impact IMO on what your team does because he is one of the best players and leaders on that squad. What he says means alot to the teammates, coaches and front office. Just my opinion.
dude i'm sorry
just checked the bengals media guide for 2010, you are right:

Palmer worked out with TO before training camp
and told the coaches and front office that he would be a wise addition to the team. When Palmer left to come back to Cincinnati, he told TO, “You should be coming with me” and TO told Palmer, “Well make something happen and we’ll go from there”. Palmer came back and talked to the coches and front office about adding TO to the roster and viola.

palmer does have marvin's ear
chad lost it years again after the 1st cleveland stunt when marvin told him not to do it.
you know you’re in the coaches doghouse when his refers to you in his press conference as Ochopsyco

You guys do have one of the best secondaries, I won’t deny that. But while Hall & Jones are lined up on Boldin/Mason/Housh, who’s worrying about Rice? Heap? All I know is that Week 2 is going to be one hell of a game to watch!
"Me no function beer welll without."
Everyone.
On this blog beleives Jones can shut down a reciever he has been out of the league for a while and even when he did have a job he was not an all star. He is no Revis but he doesnt suck either.
pacman
is good enough to be atleast a #2 on the ravens, if not #1 corner…You guys are awful quick to bash him when your secondary is looking REAL thin…..good luck w/Housh, should be a hell of a game week 2
it comes down to mind over matter....if you don't mind, it won't matter
Really?
Pac man’s, I meant Adam Jones’ technique has improved that much? If you want to say he would be our #1 KR I would be inclined to agree.
RE: Really?
was more pointing out the fact that your secondary is just “that bad” not necessarily that he’s “that good” or that his technique has improved to the point where he would be a league wide #2 or #1…..sorry for the confusion, your secondary is garbage
it comes down to mind over matter....if you don't mind, it won't matter
oh and BTW
Our Nickel package boasts a secondary that were all 1st round picks….just sayin
