8th PS roster spot

PrintBrandon Hughes was just cut from the Charges. He would be a really solid player to develop on the practice squad. I'm guessing the team is still trying to find a receiver they can sign instead since historically they've maintained offense/defense balance on both the 53-man roster and the practice squad. But Hughes can ball and still qualifies for the PS.
Besides, think of this as a trade: the Chargless get JT O'Interception and we get back anything besides JT!

If you claim someone off another team's practice squad
he has to be place on the 53 man roster-not the practice squad.
If they are cut from the PS they are not under “normal” contracts and thus don’t have to be “waived”. As a result, we can’t “claim” them at all. But we can sign them anyway… or we can add them to our PS if we want.
