What a douche bag.
I can’t believe he has the audacity to file a grievance on a team that basically handed over $7.85 million to him for basically doing some light workout’s all summer. Not to mention Marvin left the door open for him to return. I can only assume that door is now closed and he’s just trying to get this money for his retirement.
well it's his agent wanting the money
Bryant got cut so therefore I’d assume that his agent is out of some money too.
yeah but his agent telling him lets go get 3 more mill
well then, he’s bound to say hell yeah. He’s not going to be able to play this year. What team would want him after this.
Can Bengals fans file a grievance against Bryant for the receptions and touchdowns he should have provided during the season?

We're standing behind MB?
Hell must have frozen over. The D-bag that is Bryant should be lucky our medical staff is a bunch of morons, and we should sue the crap of the medical staff instead for Bryant’s money, along with MB’s money.
If I was MB, that whole medical staff’s heads would be on a stake.
+1
I agree. I don’t really think Bryant is at fault.

Whats really funny is that he made money from T.O. as well.. You know by holding a roster spot that happened to give him the number T.O. wanted when he arrived.
They said "a portion of it"
and still what went to Charity went in his name. For doing absolutely nothing.
Schefter follows up with a bit more detail
Smith said $3.1 million comes from the $1.55 million base salary that Bryant had been scheduled to earn this season in Cincinnati and the $1.55 million roster bonus that was due to him.
The Bengals have seven days to respond to the grievance and decide whether they want to settle. If they don’t, the case would go to the NFL Players Association and NFL management council for a ruling.
Smith said Bryant intends to resume his NFL career but is a month away from being ready to play.
So basically, you can't play me and you don't have a right to cut me. So pay me.
But if he intends to play in a month why is he claiming he’s due a full year’s salary ?
Of course, he said he’d be back by opening day too.

It's the maximum he can win
If his grievance is successful, he is awarded whatever is determined to be the salary he would have received until he was healthy enough to be cut properly under the rules of the collective bargaining agreement. If it is determined he would have been put on injured reserve, he would be due the full season’s salary. If that means he would have been on the roster long enough to trigger a roster bonus, he gets that bonus.
So, basically the procedure is determine the following:
1) Did the Cincinnati Bengals violate the collective bargaining agreement?
2) If so, how much time on the roster did that cost Bryant?
Isn't the purpose of the "roster bonus"
meant to be incentive to make the roster, which he failed to do?
I could sleep when I lived alone.
Is there a ghost in my house?
Bryant
It,s either MB pays him or if it goes to the NFLPA, they will have to pay anyway, so get it over with. Give him is dam money and tell him , here, now go away.

the burden of proof is on bryant; he must prove that it wasn’t ability that got him cut.
i'm going to go america all over your ass!
This. 1000x this.
All the FO has to do is say that Shipley was a better fit in the slot and they like TO better outside. He served no purpose, nothing to do with his injury.

Yeaa..
Bryant isn’t getting that money. MB should tell him to go play ‘hide and go F yourself’..

I got a feeling he is going to.
Basically, he told the County that. So he’ll have no problem telling Bryant that.
He likes telling people to go F themselves..
I think I deserve the 3 million
I have done as much for the team as Bryant.
