Cincinnati Bengals To Give Fullback Owen Schmitt A Try Out
We know that the Cincinnati Bengals are interested in bringing in a fullback, to at least help the team's proposition of having tight ends playing as de facto fullbacks. Blockers they may be, a fullback is still a fullback and a tight end is a tight end for a reason.
According to Aaron Wilson, the Bengals are planning to "try out former Seahawks fullback Owen Schmitt next Tuesday." Schmitt was drafted in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
Schmitt's favorite pass time includes smashing head on helmet.

I would love this!
Being a dub vee fan and all I watched this guy smash face for the neers. He’s a good lead blocker and can also run for the short yards.
Loved him when he was there too!
I think he had the all time record for breaking facemasks.
Let’s Go…
It turns out I overestimated my apathy, but not enough to matter.
He was a beast at WVU
Not John Conner beast, but still.

I don't get why he couldn't get on the field in Seattle
I’d take him over Coats right now.

I have done some reading up on him
He seems like a skilled blocker, runner and has pretty good speed for a FB and very good hands. He also appears to be a real mean guy when he puts his helmet on. I would say we need as many guys who are skilled and aggressive as we can get. My impression is that he WILL punch you in the mouth. He also seems to have been able to stay pretty injury free. This will also have the benefit of making Coats more expendable than he already is.
"If we always agree, one of us is not necessary"
dude has issues..
but they appear to be mental, not physical.

Owen Schmitt
This guy would thrive in the “big boy” conference of the AFC North. I would LOVE to see this SOB in stripes!!!
This guy is a jackass and thats what you need in your FB
A crazy SOB that doesnt care about what happens to his body and isnt worried about putting it in harms way
i still think i’d prefer somebody with the wherewithal to know the proper use for a helmet (hint: it’s not designed for bashing one’s own skull in).
i'm going to go america all over your ass!

Bring on El Loco MoFo
I think that would be a good nick name for him. Every team could use a crazy player like that, bring the pain.
