Marvin Lewis Met W/ Brad Childress Yesterday
via a.espncdn.com
Marvin Lewis met with Brad Childress at Ruby's in Cincinnati hours after voicing his opinion on the current state of the Bengals. The inital report came rom 700 WLW radio and then the official article was posted here. I was actually excited to hear this and was wondering why i hasnt been posted here yet. Joe Reedy also noted that Childress is a long time friend of Mike Zimmer. I think this move would be great I'd take anyone but Brat. Childress was the Eagles QB coach from 1999-2003 for Donovan Mcnabb, He then was promoted to OC from 2004-2007, but Andy Reid called the plays. I think the addition of Childress's west coast run variation offense will be great for us. We also would get Chilly for the basically free being that he stil has 2 years left on his contract in Minny. Hope this was the news we were all hoping to hear. What are your thought on possibly having Brat replace Brat?

It's definitely interesting.
I’d like to hear thoughts from somebody smarter than me on how Carson might fare in a west coast offense. The zip still seems to be there on his shorter throws at least, but would his lack of mobility be a problem?
We probably have the skill players to implement it. Caldwell and Shipley can both make underneath catches in traffic and get YAC. We’d probably see Scott utilized more as a recieving back, which would be great.
on the WCO
Being it’s my person fav offense (coaching etc)
I have a lil more knowledge. Carson may not do well in the WCO, but then again this may be what Marvin had in mind when he wanted to stick with Carson, was taking away the arm that can’t throw the deep ball like he used to and concentrate on the shorter passes. No Carson’s not the ideal WCO prospect, and because of that the future QB may be drafted sooner than we thought.
We have a receiving fullback on staff with Leonard (unsure of Pressley or Mills’ hands), along with another big receiving RB with Peerman. Both our TE’s Gresh and Coffman are solid wr’s as well. You are right with Ship and Caldwell being good YAC wr’s. Simpson may be interesting in this because he may thrive in this new offense or fall out.
In all honesty I feel with maybe drafting an ideal possesion and YAC wr the team is a lot closer than you would originally suspect. Chad, T.O, Benson all possibly on their way out and we’re looking for an identity. Changing offensive systems may not be as hard as we thought.
Hopefully my picture doesn't show my bias.
Also Fun fact
Mike Brown is Cheap, and Brad Childress would be free..
Even Brat can’t do that for Mike
Hopefully my picture doesn't show my bias.
I know some stuff about the WCO.
Carson would need to be super accurate on the short throws, which doesn’t seem like him to me. The thing is that getting it to the WR isn’t enough in a WCO; it has to be in a perfect spot so that they can catch it without breaking stride and get YAC.

it would be better than watching him throw another 10 yard out
… I cringe everytime I see that coming because my only thought is PICK 6
Please, please please
Let this happen!!!!
I still doubt it will come through because Brat is coaching the senior bowl. Why would they keep him this long if they were going to fire him? Unless they are going to make Brat a scout, which would be fine with me.
You would be fine with Brat as a scout?
I don’t even want him toasting my bread.

he was the one who convinced MB to draft Chad
Moisture is the essense of wetness, and wetness is the essense of beauty.
He's a better scout than OC..

He's also a better doorstop than offensive coordinator.
That doesn’t mean I want him as my doorman. :)
This is our year!
Wait...
Marvin and Childress were at RUBY’S?! Like, the little burger and shake joint? Or is it a different kind of restaurant in Cincy?

I think we at least took T.O. to a real steak joint.
They had to pay their own bills of course.
Hopefully my picture doesn't show my bias.
I don't think of it as anything fancy though
For some reason I would picture them at a little more swankier place.
Hopefully my picture doesn't show my bias.
Rubys is pretty well acclaimed.
Carson and Whit go to Knotty Pine, which is the furthest thing from fancy you can get.
Ok.
I’m thinking of a Burger chain on the West Coast. It’s kind of like a Johnny Rocket’s, if you guys have that out there.

The mantra of the organization is the opposite of UPS' Slogan
What can you do for Brown? I know he’s totally ruined my life. so what I am doing for him is not going to games or buying merch.
2011 and beyond. Only one thing came true on the last wishlist.
This year's wishlist
1. Bengals win Super Bowl (Something I hope for every year)
2. Reds win the World Series(or at least a playoff game)
3. Ohio State Wins a Big 10 title
4. Cavaliers actually finish with a winning record
5. Wings win the Cup
