Alex Smith has remarkably similar stats to CP over the last two years. Statistically, CP hasn't been very good except for 2005 and 2006. Rather than draft a rookie QB who may or may not develop into a legit starter. Smith isn't a sure-fire solution either but I think he's a better fit than RunPee as a backup. The big question is if Smith would even come to Cinci with CP running the show.
